Condoleezza Rice's Support Of Abortions & Gay Marriage Cost Her The Republican VP Nomination

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayYummy Yummy ScrewPolitik

We are extremely disappointed by former Governor Mitt Romney regarding his selection for Vice President, as new evidence suggests Condoleezza Rice's tolerance cost her a spot on the ticket.

According to her friends, she was a definite finalist and her penchant for equality worked against her.

One source admitted:

"Condi was fully vetted to become Mitt Romney's running mate… Mitt thought she would add much needed foreign policy experience to the ticket, thinks she is incredibly bright and he knew she would help with the all important female vote and African American support."

And Mitt would be right!

Left, right, middle, apolitical — anyone familiar the former Secretary of State knows she is a brilliant thinker with a ton of foreign policy experience. She would unquestionably help gain support from female and African American demographics.

She sounds like the PERFECT candidate! So why would he pass her up for the far less revered — though admittedly super, duper dreamy — Congressman from Wisconsin, Paul Ryan?

The source explained:

"Mitt's advisers talked him out of it because Condi is pro-choice and she isn't willing to change her position on the controversial issue. Condi also supports same sex civil unions which again, put her at odds with Romney."

Wow. That's absurd!

A candidate with more experience, more politically savvy, and more appealing to vital demographics is eschewed because she believes in a woman's right to chose?

And believes a man or woman is entitled to marry whomever they want?

So, essentially, she wasn't selected because she wasn't bigoted!!

Meanwhile, Ryan Paul, as good-looking as he is, did his party damage the other day with an RNC speech filled with inaccuracies!

Condi, on the other hand, is renowned for her elegant and accurate public speaking!

It seems like the party chose the wrong candidate. They are shooting themselves in the foot over antiquated beliefs aimed at infringing upon the rights of others!

When will people learn? Live and let live!

If you believe that you're a bigger retard than I thought possible. They may have been considering her, but the truth is she's too closely tied to the George W. Bush administration. If they'd tapped her for it, there would've been too many people thinking that she would try to further the policies of Bush (a man to whom she's remained quite loyal). It's WAY too soon for anyone that close to Bush to be in a position of power.

  2. 2

I don't get how she can be pro-choice and pro-equality yet still be a Republican.

I doubt this is true. Condi has said THOUSANDS of times she has NO interest in running for office.

"I don't have the DNA to run for office," she said. "I love policy. I don't really like politics. When you have had a chance to be the nation's chief diplomat, that's enough. I'm happy as a professor at Stanford."

Re: Yes You Bore Me – I honestly think people would be horrified if they knew just how many of Romney's advisers were former Bush people.

Perez, just because she's pro gay marriage does not mean she is credible. She is a neo-con hawk and if there was any international justice to speak of she would be sitting in prison with her mates dubya et al. But who cares as long as you get what you want right? asshole.
BTW, "women" and "african americans" are not mindless sheep who will vote for anyone with the same skin colour or genetalia as them even if they are corrupt criminals.
She is not particularly intelligent, she has a PhD from a second/third tier university. She's at Stanford now because she's a big name and brings some star power. That's it. No academic worth their salt would consider her a peer.
So, as usual, fuck you Perez.

  7. 7

Of all your political bullshit this is the worst. You have no credible sources. Do you not think a news network would pick up on this. You think the world revolves around gay issues. I really think you just dream this shit up and press print. Stick to celebrity news and leave the politics to grownups

Sukhi, but where did you get your Ph.D? Such a pretentious comment, only a second/third tier university? What is this? I have met some of the biggest knuckle heads that came out of Ivy Leagues (case in point: our politicians). She is only at Stanford because of star power? Alright, and how many of your Ivy League idols were admitted because of the strings their parents pulled? But, I guess one is better than the other, right?

A republican that doesn't care what you do on your own time? Sounds like a libertarian. LOL

    Re: PumpkinRe: Pumpkin

I've dont a lot of door knocking for some candidates, repubs and dems. So many people have the oddest of combinations of values re politics

A friend of mine is very catholic, yet supports abortion, birth control, gay marriage etc

The issue tho she hasnt voiced it and its obviously sensitive is her Mother died in the last year or two and her father is donnhill with Alts

Maybe the deal is she will leave the church after her father passes and gets the catholic funeral I'm sure he wanted

But again - here's another example - I became dem from repub becausse of bush's horrific mistake re Iraq

A neighbor went the other way because of Clintons monica affair.

We have a funny way in our head of how we value what we see as good and bad in a poltiician. Often it seem that one thing (the "ten" on the scale bypasses everthing else

IN my case its gay marriage which I see as also meaning social status and respect. It started with the Matthew Shopard murder and having the one in a million chance happen - I met his mom on a plane about 6 mos after the murder

    Just saying

  11. 11

You're exactly right, Condi is Bush's girl.
They always have to spin the abortion card.
    -
"Yes, as a Senator from Illinois, I stood up for the right to roll the botched abortion of a baby into a closet , and let it die a painful death. I'm President Barack Obama and I still approve this message."

Re: sukhi – You're an idiot. Condi's mentor was none other than Madeleine Albright's father, a brilliant legal scholar. Condi was at Stanford, as provost, before she went into the political sphere as a Russian and Eastern European scholar. She's one of the most accomplished women in the country. She got her Masters from Notre Dame - hardly a 2nd or 3rd tier university, and her PHD from U of Denver at the Korbel School - which is named after Madeleine Albright's father. Do your homework before insulting people - it only makes you look uneducated.

OH MY GOSH! LIES LIES LIES Perez! Quit posting this false shit! I would love to know where you heard this from? Condaleeza Rice has openly stated that she had no interest in getting the VP nomination. On CBS June 26 she stated “there is no way that I will do this because it’s really not me.I know my strengths and weaknesses.”

Why don't you turn on a news channel for once and get the facts straight! No E! News, Entertainment Tonight, and anything on HLN is not considered news….Seriously stick to celebrity gossip because you sound like an ignorant, biased, unrelaible, hypocrite that no one will take seriously–like you're a gossip blogger–do you have a degree in political science or anything of the sort? No, you don't–so I don't suggest posting things you have no knowledge in

  14. 14

Who the hell is this so-called 'source'? Condoleezza herself said "I love policy. I'm not particularly fond of politics… I’m saying there’s no way that I will do this, because it’s really not me. I know my strengths, and Governor Romney needs to find someone who wants to run with him.” (CNN Political Ticker, Reuters, ABC, FOX, NBC, etc.) I think your 'source' is a fraud or a figment of your imagination.

    Re: rosebud99

because, those are just two issues out of a plethora of issues that puts you into that category. although i consider myself a democrat, there are some issues i lean more towards libertarian. it's just a category, not a prison.

    Re: rosebud99

I am, rosebud99 and you'd probably be surprised how many others there are like me as well.

On another note Perez, you should probably do a quick scan before you post because Ms Rice has said herself repeatedly that she simply isn't interested in that particular facet of public service as of now. At least during the talk shows I've seen her on a few months ago.

P.S. Bit of advice, regardless of being a celebrity gossip site it behooves one to specifically cite where you get your so called "sources." People are seeing right through the smog BS. And quit trying to generalize all Republicans as being intolerant to gay and civil rights. Maybe read a book with substance sometime instead of writing about celebutant garbage. Because frankly (and this should go without say, but I'm going to anyways) not all republicans or all democrats are racist ignoramuses.

But hey at least you're sticking to what you know.

BUT, if any of that has a grain of truth to it, than that is a damn shame and extremely close minded. It's 2012 for fuck sake. But regardless, Obama has got to go imo.

Condi is a really smart woman but was took closely tied to the largely disastrous GWB foreign policy of that government.
It was so obvious that Mitt needed an evangelical or catholic running mate to offset his Mormonism. Ryan is ideal in a way as he appeals to the more conservative element of the GOP voters. Of course, I'd rather they concentrated on the economy and left issues like abortion and civil partnerships alone until the economy was looking better. GOP pride themselves on ' small government' but this seems hypocritical of they are telling women how to live their lives. Always seems to be middle ages men doing this!

First of all, Perez, we all know your political affiliation and your attempt to spin everything to your agenda. Speaking for myself here, but if you are going to continue this blog as a political slant, please put on another link so those that want to read it can and those here for celebrity gossip can do so. Just like your "parents" and "fitness" links.

Second, please check your sources. You have thrown accuracy out the window and now it's to the point that anything written here has about a 30% chance of accuracy. You are losing credibility in everything you post and setting your causes back.

Third, To Rosebud: There are so many issues the republican party represents and not all subscribe to each issue. Same with the democratic party. We each have our own personal beliefs and they may not coincide with the exact party line to which we are registered or with which we associate. I too am one of them. I have beliefs that fall on the right and beliefs that fall on the left. Party lines aren't black v. white like the media makes both sides out to be. :)

Well, GOOD for her….I actually dislike her less now….ALL women deserve men to GET out of their vaginas….Women should always have these rights and be free….I cannot believe it is 2012 and men especially just want us as baby making machines only…STAND UP for your rights people….And her pro-gay stance is great too….that is the world today….lots of gays and lesbians…whether you like it or not…They are here to stay…EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!!!

  25. 25

Re: rosebud99 – I imagine that Secretary Rice, has other political options that have a higher priority than abortion and gay marriage! I would guess that international affairs, defense, economy, policy all rate higher with her than minor social issues. I consider her to be a great asset to our country and think that she is a great role model. Many views are welcome under the Republican umbrella. The common thread tends to be small government. I would guess more Republicans vote fiscal issues as a top priority and more Democrats vote social issues as their priority. Independents are somewhere in the middle. It just boils down to what priority is important to the individual. I'm conservative, I believe women need opportunities, not government entitlements. I want a chance for the moon, not a hand out from the government. Social issues mean nothing if I don't have my freedoms first. That's how I vote my priorities.

She also believes in that SCIENCE stuff…like global warming and evolution. Can't have any of that! lol Plus she teaches at a 'LIBERAL' university and has admitted to being helped by affirmative action. Those things could never be tolerated by the flat earth society aka todays republican base. Word is Condi Mushroomcloud was not interested in return to politics anyway.
