    HAHAHAAAAAAAA priceless

So he can't support Republicans or have a political opinion because of his family life. There are plenty of republicans who have non-traditional or iffy family lives that the GOP uses as their image. And there are plenty liberals who have a completely PC normal family life. Certain decisions do not apply to other beliefs. Family life is not the only thing people look at when voting. There's still economics, gay marriage, abortion, gun rights, immigrations, war, and many other things to take into account.
Also, Clint Eastwood is a big name. Of course the republicans are going to want to use a familiar face. It's not like George Clooney or the other celebrities supporting President Obama are squeaky clean.

I love you man, but you tend to be REALLY one sided in your political reporting. I understand that as a democrat you are going to obviously lean that way in your posts, and I would do the same, but seriously? You shy away from taking jabs at democrats for obvious blunders but seek out things to make fun of with republicans. All of which I would be fine with by the way, but now you're going to take jabs at people just for being republican supporters? I don't see you posting things like this about the celebrities hosting Obama fundraisers, and let's be honest, some of those people would be pretty easy to rip on. I am by far not a political nut and don't get bothered easily, but stick to making fun of the candidates at least. Or at least try making fun of democratic supporters as well. I thought you were getting a little more boring when you turned over your new leaf, but apparently he's still in there somewhere.

Re: sick_girl – He's poking fun at the fact that Clint Eastwood was the saving grace for the Republican National Convention for a presidential nominee who chooses to focus time and time again on family issues at the cost of more important and broad issues. Don't act like you have no idea what's going here. It just makes you look like an idiot.

He supports the sanctity of marriage damnit!

oh and sick_girl stfu. Immigrations? If you can't even properly address the issue then I'll just get your opinion from your parents.

  7. 7

All the Republicans are Sick Psychopaths…

  8. 8

I'm thinking about all the women who aborted his kids….

  9. 9

Guess you'll be scrutinizing every Hollywood liberal that supports obama just as you have Clint. If so,You are going to be a busy boy but I doubt you will. Don't libs preach tolerance but usually are the first to point out what they perceive as other people's imperfections. And they say conservatives are judgemental and non-inclusive - not so.

Re: feel_the_darkness – I simply think the attacks should be saved for the actual politicians who have the stances rather than who introduces them on stage. Actually, I am just an equal opportunity insulter! Throw it all around if you're going to throw it all around. Just don't try to claim a neutral stance and then be so blatantly biased against, not the politicians who deserve it, but anyone who stands too close to them. Just seems kind of wrong. I completely get how the choice of a speaker was kind of ironic given his background, but you could find those kind of ironies in every supporters backgrounds, no matter the party.

If that was shown minus the "GOP 2012", people would say it was awesome. Bottom line, Clint Eastwood is the shit, whether he was up there for 10 minutes not giving a single shit, or he was being truly politically minded. Either way, he's old, and he made me laugh. That's all I need from a human being.

If your dislike for republicans is sooo deep that you of all people are judging someone's personal issues because of his political is a judgement you wouldn't want cast upon yourself for your personal decisions right? This trash is why everyone's judgement gets clouded when it comes to something as important as the future of our country. Educate yourself please about issues that matter … I never saw this before he spoke it wasn't one of your celebrity gossip pages.. So it seems to me your letting the hate in!!

I just want to point out that Clint Eastwood is pro gay marriage and pro choice. He has one of the best old man quotes about gay marriage ever…"I don't give a fuck about who wants to get married to anybody else. We're making a big deal out of things we shouldn't be making a deal out of. Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want."

  18. 18

wow.. didn't know he was such a whore

  19. 19

Only thing missing is to have government handouts and no tolerance for the other side. No wait….he would be a flaming lib then.

  20. 20

Wow. Ya'll can take a stance and pee on everyone else for doing the same things those in your party are doing.

I'm so fucking sick of your idiotic statements. I am a (typically) liberal voter but as someone who devoted a large part of my education studying politics, policies, and historical trends … I find anyone who needlessly judges all humans by the way they vote to be completely discredited as an intellectual being. Really. Clint Eastwood? He's an incredible, talented director who has an opinion. Who gives a SHIT? I still watch movies with Sean Penn who is a complete and total psycho about his politics. Because guess what … actors are all weird artistic types who tend to be completely out of touch with reality. Their political opinions are almost always irrelevant as they are quite possibly the worst representation of an average American person.

I live in the South. ALL of my gay friends are Republicans, and though I personally disagree with their views, they believe that gay marriage will ultimately phase into acceptability with the moderate conservative politicians. So I respect their right to believe that way. You respect nothing, and your bullshit "I'm a new person mantra" is complete hypocrisy. You are a TERRIBLE role model to gay people, encourage political aggression between difference of opinion, and do nothing to help further the basic understanding of each person's opinions.

Fuck your blog. I used to find you funny because you were honest. Now you just write whatever you think is cool in Hollywood land.

    28

You're such a loser, Perez. When are you going to start with the anti-Obama shit? Trust me, he's got a lot to talk about. Clint Eastwood is a moderate, which means he votes for the best candidate, regardless of party affiliation. Did you listen to his speech last night? He, just like struggling middle class people, want the f**king economy fixed. Obama isn't doing it because according to him "the private sector is doing fine." Um, no, it's not. The fact that you keep posting 100% anti-Republican crap just proves that you are an idiot. I can't wait till November when you have to eat humble pie and admit that you don't know shi*t about how "real" America is doing in this Obama-economy. How much longer do we have to wait to have hope again?

  29. 29

Wow! An old man thats a republican, nothing new there! I do like Clint Eastwood, but the republicans are so far gone, no one can relate to those people anymore. Lets look at the offical platform, for all you Perez haters that don't know shit about this campaign. No gay marriage, no abortion (haven't seen that gem since 1976), drilling in Alaska, destroying the environment in the process, no unions, less funding for Medicaire so our elderly can suffer and be broke, continuation of tax cuts for the wealthy….I mean, do I have to go on? Anyone in support of this platform is either a moron or a moron. The Republican party is focused in the South, and every year, the southern states rank LOWEST for education. The republicans are uneducated. Period.

  30. 30

Unfortunately you keep your political views wrapped up in your sexuality. I would hope you would look at all the issues and make a descision based on political fact. I am a democrat, I voted for Obama… I am so sad that he let me down and am sad that I will HAVE to vote republican for the first time, because I cannot take 4 more years of his dictatorship. Oh and I am sure that Clint takes care of his kids instead of them having to take a government handout.

Perez, this is a pathetic cheap attack that demonstrates your blatant hypocrisy towards anyone who is not a liberal. You should honestly be ashamed of yourself for stooping so damn low. You are the bigot, you are the intolerant voice, you are the ignorant person who doesn't understand the issues but instead chooses to attack peoples personal lives for political gain. If you looked past the issue of gay marriage for one second and understood where Obama is taking this country economically perhaps you would be singing a different tune. Honestly, how do you feel about Obamas comment of "you didn't build that"? Who helped you become successful Perez? Was it government or did you have a great idea, worked hard at it, became an entrepreneur on your own and was successful. You are an idiot for supporting someone who thinks you don't deserve credit for your successes, especially since YOU fall into the category of small business entrepreneur.

I can't support any political advice from a gossip columnist. Nor will I support any attacks on the GOP from Perez. Perez, be careful what you say because the man in the oval office doesn't have a perfect past. Clint Eastwood has more political experience than Obama prior to being Pres. Know your shit before you start attacking people's personal life.

The difference is that REPUBLICANS are the ones always claiming to have the MORAL HIGH GROUND and living a RIGHTEOUS LIFE. REPUBLICANS are the ones that always claim that Hollywood and the "Left Coast" are sending the nation to hell in a hand basket. Further, Republicans are ALWAYS bitching about how actors and celebrities OPINIONS DON"T MATTER. So, if they want to claim that position, they had better ACT ACCORDINGLY. So, when one of their speakers is AN ACTOR, WHO HAS OPINIONS and WHO LIVES AN IMMORAL LIFE according to THEIR DEFINITION(Multiple children, some out of wedlock), then they are being completely HYPOCRITICAL to do an ABOUT-FACE. Where is that tried and true conservative consistency???? Like children, they are completely capable and willing to cast aside their value system for a celebrity endorser, whose own LIFE EXPERIENCE runs COUNTER TO EVERYTHING THEY CLAIM THEY ARE.

  44. 44

I'm really tired of liberals spewing vitriol at anyone who dares to be have a different opinion than they do. You don't have to agree with conservatives but show some basic respect for each other as human beings.

Funny how this of all posters is the one you choose to submit. The very essence or core of the Democratic platform is to be supportive of alternative lifestlyes. Additionally, Clint Eastwood is successful and supports his brood by himself. There's no glad handing here, looking for government support and perpetual financial payments. Very silly of you to use this as your platform!!

Re: V – Good grief… The whole "you didn't build that" line that the republicans have turned into their mantra was taken out of context. The comment was not about businesses, it was about infrastructure (highways, public works, etc) that WE ALL benefit from. Infrastructure that without, most businesses could not exceed. Infrastructure that republicans are proposing to cut spending on, which will kill jobs, not help! Either you are simply misinformed (very understandable given how much it has been thrown around by right-leaning media outlets, pundits, and politicians) or you know the truth (that the line is out of context) but choose to ignore the truth and further promote the falsehood. Which is it? Btw… I suggest consulting PolitiFact when trying to decide what is fact vs B.S. Repeating blatant propaganda lines makes you seem very unintelligent.

  57. missing the point says – reply to this

    57

Re: lmm23 – It has nothing to do with actors supporting one party or another! Yes, Mr. Eastwood is entitled to his opinions and I'm sure he (like myself) don't give two shits about what people like Perez think. BUT, you and a lot of others in the comments are missing the point. As someone else pointed out – , the whole idea is that conservatives continue to harp about how people in Hollywood, with their "poor social values" are corrupting this country and it's time to take it back… yada yada yada. Why would they then choose someone who doesn't fit within their value system to speak for them? Hypocrisy. When democrats start talking trash about a group of people, but then USE someone from said group to promote themselves, then Perez can photoshop a picture of it and post it around (but I too doubt he will as he does seem to be one of those extreme liberals who give democrats a bad name, like Rosie O'Donnell). Name some examples if you think of any and I'll help you spread them around.

I chuckled quietly to myself at the irony when I saw the picture but didn't really care either way until I started reading and noticed how off base a lot of the comments are. I wouldn't care if he had 200 kids from 150 women and never married a single one as long as he is a man and takes care of them. I can see how people could take it as a personal attack but I honestly don't think it was meant as such.

  58. 58

..ha ha ha…the guy really is an asshole….
