Lindsay Lohan To Tom Cruise: 'I Had NO Part In The Vanity Fair Story'

The Church of Scientology wanted Lindsay Lohan to mate with Tom Cruise!?

It's news to us, but someone close to her is telling sources that the Mean Girls star was in the running along with Scarlett Johansson!

Rumors flew around Hollywood way back in 2005 that David Miscavige and his followers were interviewing high-profile actresses to play the role of Cruise's wife and a brand new Vanity Fair exposé that hit the stands today says those rumors were TRUE!

LiLo, however, is adamant that she "had no part" in the magazine's controversial story and took to Twitter to write:

That's not the full truth and nothing but the truth according to an unnamed source who said:

“Lindsay met with Tom before he met Katie. At first, she was super excited to work with Tom and thought it was about a role in Mission: Impossible. It soon became clear that he wasn’t looking for an actress but something very different.”

It's hard to separate fact from fiction since Scientology is so dang strange, but at least she had the good sense not to even consider the Church's proposal!

Can U imagine Suri Cruise…if she popped out of Lindsay Lohan!?

More importantly…can anyone imagine Lindsay Lohan as a PARENT!? LOLz!

At least Scientology's alleged efforts produced one of the most adorable celebrity children of all time, but we're attributing most of that to Katie Holmes' good genes.

    I'm so excited for Tom to free himself from this cult. Although it could be argued that all religion is a cult… Still, selecting potential mates for someone goes far beyond what seems to be appropriate to me. Lindsay is getting it too rough, many people including myself suffer from addictions, and she should be commended on her efforts to get it together. It's not easy.

    Hmmm, while this bit about Lindsay herself seems a little over the top, I do recall Scarlett Johansson (or her rep, whatever) speaking years ago about how she was brought to see Tom and thought it had something to do with the movie, and ended up going on a tour of the Scientology centre, with everyone there trying to get her to sign up and complete a "profile."
