It is quite clear that Liam Payne (started off the song) is the superior talent in One Direction. His experience and control is very noticeable. I am dumbfounded that you Perez and many other sites do not note Liam's huge contribution to the group. He's the unofficial leader and the group lies on his shoulders. He needs to go solo. I guarantee you One Direction would not survive without him. So, STOP posting about the silly antics and sexlife of Harry Styles and actually give credit and recognition where it is due.

They really don't hold a candle to the boybands of the 90's and early 00's. NSYNC's performances put them to shame. For being a boyband, they could at least do some dancing.

Re: Lizz – Sadly he's not the best looking of the bunch. That goes a long way these days.

3 minutes irrevocably of wasted time

It's unfortunate. In the long term, a singer cannot rely on looks for a long successful career. I was drawn to Liam's voice. It has a great texture and is quite pleasant to listen to. It's clear that he works hard. But the way One Direction is marketed is to make all the boys look equal in talent while in reality, that is not the case. Liam is the 1D equivalent of NSYNC's JC Chase

Re: anewlow – Umm excuse me? Thats exactly why us fans love them so much! Its called their trying to do something different with the boyband thing. They like to focus on the singing instead of doing synchronized dancing. And plus they can't dance anyways.

Well it's a matter of opinion isn't it? I actually love Liam and do think he engages the audiance the most. But I don't like his voice at all. He sings well, but the tone of it is just bland. Nothing special. I think Zayn has the best voice… He's the one that does all the high notes that the others can't even reach. Also Harry has a pleasent rocky tone to his voice that I like as well. So, it's silly of you to say Liam should go solo. They all bring something different to the band and that's why together they work so well. Also whats with all the comperisons to the 90's boybands. They went away for a reason. Yes 1D doesnt dance, wear stupid clothes and sing cry inducing harmonies. Thats why their fans love them! They have a rock-pop sound, just do their thing on the stage, no special effects and weird clothes. Just them and their voices. I respect that. To top it off these boys are actually really really good friends. Just watch one interview with them and you'll see their is no one here that wants to go solo or gets jelous. They genuinly get on and are really appreciative. Just look at their reactions when they won! They were so happy, it was really sweet!

Re: emily22 – Haha, I was reading all the comments and they all had at least some type of mature element to them and then I come to your comment…either you are really young (and let's face it, most 1D fans are) or your older but still somewhat immature (at least when it comes to your comment. I don't know you, so I can't judge anything other than your comment). I agree with you, boy bands these days are trying to do something different and make it more about the music (even though that isn't working out too well, because it's still about the looks) and not all the flashy dancing and what not.

Re: anewlow – duhhh that´s why they are better bc they´re not doing stupid dance moves like the bsb and nsync back in the 90´s…so stop judging bitch!!

i think they performed wonderfully.. and they all have different styles when they sing, thats the reason they're a group; they all bring something different to the table. They have the looks, vocals, and personality. They don't do the synchronized dancing, because in todays world that just looks tacky and stupid- sorry to inform you.

    Re: Poppy
I can see what you're saying, but I think the other boys know that Liam is their best asset. Of course they won't admit it in an interview. They are trained to say specific things for the sake of their image. Look, whether or not you hit high notes does not make you better singer than someone else. Liam is a baritone while the other boys appear to be tenors. Liam's notes are full and supported. I can hear the Justin Timberlake influence in his voice. I also see a young Michael Buble in him. He would do very well with Timberlake style pop and jazz. He needs to get taken under the wing with likes of Harry Connick Jr. S

These guys are good looking and can sing but this performance is dull. They should learn from the boy bands of the past and pick up some dance moves. All they do is hop around the stage I can't imagine watching them for an hour just walking up and down the stage. I do however think they have potential just need work on their stage presence.
