Clint Eastwood Explains His Empty Chair Speech And Calls Obama A 'Hoax'

Clint Eastwood has broken his silence for the first time since delivering that really awkward speech at the Republican National Convention. And guess what? He's not sorry he did!

The 82-year-old Hollywood icon is sticking to his guns and partisanship by concluding that the people who were puzzled by his ramblings “are obviously on the left."

Because surely, that's the only explanation. It couldn't have been the fact that he randomly decided to develop Benjamin Button disease and invited an invisible friend to the podium with him, right? LOLz!

No matter how you felt about his entertaining approach to bashing Barack Obama, he told his hometown newspaper he just wanted to get three points across to the American public and explained:

“I had three points I wanted to make. That not everybody in Hollywood is on the left, that Obama has broken a lot of the promises he made when he took office, and that the people should feel free to get rid of any politician who’s not doing a good job. But I didn’t make up my mind exactly what I was going to say until I said it.”

That's right. He wasn't stumbling over his words because he forgot to wear his contacts, he was straight up freestylin' and noted:

“They vett most of the people, but I told them, ‘You can’t do that with me, because I don’t know what I’m going to say.'"

The Trouble With The Curve star came up with the controversial chair gimmick MINUTES before he was scheduled to take the stage, continuing:

“There was a stool there, and some fella kept asking me if I wanted to sit down. When I saw the stool sitting there, it gave me the idea. I’ll just put the stool out there and I’ll talk to Mr. Obama and ask him why he didn’t keep all of the promises he made to everybody … The guy said, ‘You mean you want it at the podium?’ and I said, ‘No, just put it right there next to it.’”

Ultimately, we think the chair was more of a distraction than an accessory that complimented his words, but here's his message loud and clear:

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people. Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”

So do us a favor and if U are in "the middle," let us know (below) if his tactic worked!

Why all the hate for Obama and none for George W. Bush Clint? Does not seem fair to me.

Embarrassing to watch. Had it been a fight someone would has stopped it. Hell, someone from the GOP should have pulled the fire alarm. PATHETIC!!!!!

Who cares what this old rich white man had to say… ? Another reason the Repubs are SO out of touch with America …….

  4. 4

His speech only resonated with those who are like minded. The people in the middle do not buy into these black and white positions on politics. People in the middle generally see both good and bad on both sides and have to weigh the pros and cons according to their own priorities. Hearing a radically one-sided speech with no back-up info is not likely to affect those in the middle.

I'm in the middle. However publicity stunts like Clint Eastwood's never worked on me.

Quite frankly voting is always an emotional decision, not a logical one. Each party can say how terrible the other party is, and show "facts" (which in this day and age, almost anything can be faked if you have enough money) to prove their point but at the end of the day you just have to vote for what you think is right (which often depends on your upbringing, your education level, and your geographic location). And what people think is 'right' often isn't logical, it's emotional. Most of us vote selfishly, either to get something for ourselves and obtain freedom(ie lower taxes etc etc) or to make us feel better about ourselves and our security in life (willingness to pay higher taxes for universal healthcare).

So with all that said……talking to a chair won't sway my in the direction you want, but if you simultaneously appeal to my logic AND my emotions, and make me feel convicted that I'M doing the RIGHT thing and the SMART thing….that will change my mind.

Clint Eastwood - fabulous actor, impotent political speaker.

I didn't care for his delivery, but I agree with his message that Obama is a Hoax
He told us one thing, and than does another,he can't be trusted
I still wish anyone would explain how after Obama's mother remarried,he was than adopted by Soto ?, and all moved back to Idonesia, his name there is Barry Soto, he is listed as a Muslim, and he is an Indonesian citizen, does he have duel citizenship ?
Years later he calls himself Obama

I really feel sorry for Perez Hilton for having such a lame brain. I realize he's not pretending to be unbiased, but he does pretend to know what's right and wrong for everyone, and he is a bully, though, I'm sure, he thinks he is not.

Why are ALL celebrities and hipsters starting to become, all of a sudden, very aggressive toward social conservatives? There is no room for debate anymore, only anger, mockery and insults. I was taught, my whole life, that we should always strive for our better angels, so I'm not going to very easily submit to this abuse, lose my resolve and embrace the wide, easy path.

  8. 8

It wasnt bizarre. If John Stewart did the same thing about Bush, the liberal press would have called it genius. Its further proof of a liberal bias in the media.

  9. sukhi says – reply to this

Because Bush was his kinda guy, if you know what I mean.. Obama the greatest hoax? Not Bush who lost and stole an election less than 10 years before? No hoax. Yeesh. In a few years it'll become public that he has alzheimers just like it did with Charleton Heston or whatever his name was.

  10. 10

President Obama Clint is cleaning up what was left. You are a independent, but you seem to look down on those who don't agree with you and call them names. You call them lefties? Your words and opinion about people are what seperate so many of us when all of us want the same thing. The best for our families and country.

  11. 11

    Keep digging, Mr. Eastwood…

  15. 15

Pft. Obama is a joke. Romney is a joke. I'm voting for Gary Johnson. I can't stand the idea of my vote going towards the two major parties this year because neither side has done ANYTHING to help this country. Don't even get me started on Obamacare (for those who would like to point that one out). I would love to see a third to even fourth party make a serious dent into the choices the American people have for their leadership.

  16. Mohan says – reply to this

Clint: I watched your speach. It is your time. You had your say. Like President Clinton said, check the arithmetic. In the last 52 years which party created more jobs. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Universal Health Care, Food stamps, women's choice, non-discrimination, equal employment, equal pay, unions, voting rights, fair taxation, are important for some sections of the people. Live in third world countries, you will understand what trickle down economics mean. I like you.

  17. 17

    Loved his speech!

    Re: boston61
Nobody is buying the Bush excuse any more. Get a grip

  20. 20

I wasn't crazy about Clint's spot, but didn't think all that bad. Was a little bit in the middle. But he is totally spot on in saying Obama is a hoax. Obama can not even verify where he went to college. Not one single person can vouch for him there. Go ahead and try to defend that, democrats, NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON CAN VOUCH FOR HIS COLLEGE EXPERIENCE, NOT ONE. The guy is a total fraud, a complete fraud. A 100 percent fraud. HIs background is a MYSTERY, his upbringing is a MYSTERY, his college is even a bigger MYSTERY, and you are going to put him in office? What a bunch of dumbasses.

  21. 21

    Obama 2008: Yes We Can!
    Obama 2012: Nobody Could Have!

  22. 22

When you bring a chair to a shootout and the chair wins, well Mr. President, you’re just not getting it done.

  23. 23

I cringed a little at the halting delivery, but content-wise it was funny and absolutely what that convention needed.
Eastwood road into town, ridiculed the bad guy, called him out into the street, and thoroughly trounced him.
I will forever be grateful to Mr. Eastwood for deflating Barack Obama for the world to see. Pointing out Obama was not THE ONE, he was simply another president, a failed one at that, and that he was not a ‘messiah’ but just a man.
Eastwood pointed out that when a person you hire for a job fails at that job it is reasonable and necessary to fire them and hire a better candidate for the position.

  24. hmmm says – reply to this

Broadway calls for a limited engagement of Eastwood and the Chair. It would be sellout and Tony winner even and a blue state like NY.

Re: MVPnis – I keep seeing people make this same comment when talking about the chair stunt, and the only problem with that sentiment is that Jon Stewart and other liberals WOULDN'T of done something like! not saying its a republican thing, i'm saying its a crazy thing that most people wouldnt do, so stop saying the liberal media would of loved it if it werent a republican doing it, because they havent and most likey wont ever do anything that stupid and crazy

  26. audrey anderson says – reply to this

Re: luvs2hustle – one, "the bush excuse" is not really an excuse at all, just a fact of how the economy and the state of our country was in when he left office, a complete mess. im not sure how people can even still try to ignore all the shit he did, probably just to make them feel better knowing they voted for him and had a part in the destruction he caused us. secondly, eastwood for the most part did the opposite in showing the world what obama is truly like, instead, most of the sane people who saw it just saw a senile old white rich man talk to an empty chair, all the while not stating a single fact against obama, just made opinions. bill clinton, on the other hand, stated a shit load of facts against the republicans, i suggest you check out his speech and see how its really done

  27. 27

Some people just can't handle the truth - - - tell 'em Clint!! For all of you who think he is just an old man - one of these days - you will be old - if you are lucky - just hope you have half the the courage, interest and passion to state your beliefs in person for everyone to see - instead of on anonymous boards.

Amazing that the party of morals and values drags out a disheveled, old coot who has been married twice, has 7 children with 5 different women and refused to accept paternity of 2 of those children until they were in their teens. Nice to see the GOP still holding strong to that family values platform. Hypocrites!!!

  29. 29

With all due respect, he is a legend, much more than Eva Longoria who has studdied economics ……..when? Look, neither of them have, but even you liberals must admit there is a bias in the mainstream media. It is documented. We know this. The facts are as such. Obama is a hoax. He never delivered on his promises. We are worse than we were when he took office. He has no solid plan. He has little experience and zero experience in the private sector. He has accomplished nothing and unlike Clinton, failed to work in the middle. He is a zero. All the hype and commercials the DNC make do not change the facts.

  31. 31

obama has been in office for 4 YEARS people stop blaming bush, I mean I know bush wasn't the best president either, but obama put us in more debt then bush ever did and obama is a bigger liar, go see the movie 2016 Obamas America it tells you actual facts about obama's life and how he has lied to all of us about a lot of things. And I don't understand how some people still like bill clinton HE LIED to the american people about getting a blowjob in the oval office what president LIES to the american people? Sheesh we have more morons in this country then I thought…

  32. yea.. says – reply to this

Clint, that was not the best speech ever. He should have said what he said above, instead of talking to a chair. He was mumbling to the chair. It made no sense. HOWEVER, if Obama somehow wins (please don't) and after 4 more years that change never comes..He will still be blaming Bush. I am fed up with Obama. We need change and it isn't Obama.

the doing one thing and saying another is the republican way. just this election they critize obama for mud slinging and negative attacks then literally in their next breath attack him and call him a failure, or how about bush's no new taxes promise which he then passed new taxes, or how about ryan's critizing the obama bailout then writing a letter to ask for 20 million in bailouts for two companies in his state or how about…get the picture. the rest of your post is just stupid serioulsy conspiracy b.s.

  35. yup yup says – reply to this

Re: Tanya T – well bush f#$ked things up for 8 years, so it might take more time to fix that mess. the downturn started in 07 from bush's policies thats why we blame him. obama is fixing it maybe not as quick as he promised sure but he is fixing it. Remember reading about the great depression….or other recessions in history that were at or near this magnitude, they all took more then 4 years to fix. the last republican president before junior bush sr. also started a recession in which another democratic president stepped in to fix in 8 years. and lies..uh honey keep looking for those wmd's

  36. yup yup says – reply to this

    Re: luvs2hustle

buy it or not, look at the numbers. the economic slide started in 07. wall streets downturn, the bank crisis it all started in 07. and what got it started happened prior to that so believe it or not its factual and you can't rewrite or ignore history just to prove your point. obama did not cause this bush did thats a fact. the only thing in question is was he/ is he the best man to fix it. that you can argue i think he is (with the options we are giving) but if don't ok. vote romney and maybe your right but to blame him for causing something he did not is just ignorant. that being said romney is not bush (though his policies are simular) so they shouldnt hate romney just because bush hurt our country

  37. 37

Re: boston61 – The rethugs would like us to forget that "w" ever existed. It was no accident that neither old man Bush or "w" weren't at the rethug convention.

  38. 38

I agree w Obama on most social issues, but I'm lower-middle class & I'm hurting BAD. I'm the college kid who voted for him in 08' & now I'm not so sure I will bc I can't get a job unless its at a gas station, but I have real bills to pay that at a check from Circle K won't pay. Hollywood liberals aren't gonna pay em' you know what I mean? They aren't hurting the way we are, & if you're hurting this bad, living off my hubbys paycheck to paycheck - the way the "right" feels about other things goes out the window & I just want someone to fix the economy, that's my FIRST concern. I feel torn between Obama/Romney. The rich white guy just doesn't oppress minorities, they oppress lower class whites as myself (not all white ppl are rich). Do I chose the rich old white man or Obama again? I'm not sure what to do to be honest.

  39. 39

Re: boston61 – Ha!! That President is LONG gone!! He is talking about Obuma promises!! Wake up fruitcake…

  40. 40

(Okay from an outsider, as I'm Canadian but get enough American content here to know what goes on…)

    1. Well, Clint should have just said what he said now. Because while I would have disagreed with him, he would have looked a lot more sane…and his argument probably would have seemed a lot more serious if he hadn't been talking to a chair. As me and all my Canadian friends watched it going "Oh America, you so crazy".

    2. All of you complaining about Obama not doing enough…you do remember when the Republicans right out publicly said they were going to do everything they could to make sure he was a one term president years ago, right? They admitted they were going to stall his bills, not let things pass just to screw him over. That isn't the liberal left making it up, that was covered even in Canada…they said it. They voted down bills THEY started just to make sure Obama did nothing. They stalled him doing things that if he hadn't pushed through would have actually destroyed America. And yet you're all "oh all his fault". How is it possible to be that dumb?

    3. Bush screwed over the economy. Those are facts. And one of the reasons Obama is struggling fixing it is because it's not just in America…the world economy is crap right now. You blame Obama for high unemployment and high gas prices…and yet everywhere else is having the same problems. Wake the hell up, people.

  41. 41

Re: yup yup – Ding Dong! Housing market cause by Dobbs & Frank wanting poor people to live in mansions! Did Bush tell everybody to max out there credit cards or buy houses they couldnt afford. Everybody was living beyond there means!
Obuma came into office and went for Gitmo on his first bite, not the economy! He tried to close it down and move them to the states and try them as US citizens. He did not go after the economy and then went after the healthcare, THEN THREW MILLIONS AT THE BANKS AND THE AUTO!!!! Wake up!!

  42. jmanny says – reply to this

He has ways of bringing things out ,funny but to the point. Yea who is in that chair or who is running the show? I think Clint should've ran for President, he took office in Brentwood.MAKE MY DAY!! Only American Citizens should be allowed. GOD HELP US ALL. Vote or Not we're stuck, Bad things things happen to Good Presidents ,he doesn't have to worry bout that. GO FOR IT MR.CLINT.MAKE MY DAY.

  43. 43

Re: pdrocksmysocks – Where you here when everybody buying houses they couldnt affoed and maxing out the credit cards???

Did you know Obuma tried to push the Gitmo closing down and giving them American rights to our courts. Try them in our courts?? Stopped water boarding which is a known fact this is how they caught Bin Lauden.. He didnt go after the economy and then went after a healthcare bill that NO one read it!! At this point everybody with half a brain is thinking this guy is nuts! This is how it became a one term President! The writting was on the walls that this guy was wacked! Then threw Billions and had NO ONE watch the money!! Fu Canada!!

  44. 44

i voted for Obama in 2008, however i will NOT vote for him again. He was a huge disappointment.

  47. 47

I thought his speech was fine, I thought the chair was fine. It was OBVIOUS to me that he was considering the chair to be taken by Obama, duh. He is 82 years old and if he doesn't prepare for his speeches, why would you people think it would be PERFECT? I didn't think he was 'stumbling over his words.' And I liked his message with the exception that every politician is a snake. No matter who gets voted in, it was planned and they all have the same objective: Making life hell on earth, one step at a time.

  48. 48

Re: Yenkme – What does Obama have to do with people maxing out their credit cards?? How in the world is that his fault? And as for homes they couldn't afford, that was a problem that started under Bush. Do some basic research. The crash of the housing market started in 2007…a lot of it had to do with things Bush put in place, and somethings before even his time. Banks were loaning people too much money and down payments were dropped way low (which yeah, that was Bush). I have no idea why Republicans keep blaming Bush's mistakes on Obama.

As for Gitmo and waterboarding…yeah…I do think Gitmo should be closed and I'm against waterboarding. Little thing called human rights that I happen to believe in so…

  49. 49

Re: Yenkme – And it still doesn't address the fact that half the things he did go after got tied up for so long by Republicans that it completely screwed him over at being able to fix anything. Such as raising the debt ceiling…that the Republicans blocked just to cause a scene…even though had they not raised it, government employees including the military wouldn't have been paid and the country would have lost all internation accreditation. It was something that NEEDED to be passed and Republicans fillibustered it and everyone knew it. Kind of hard to fix the mess Bush caused when they won't let you do the most basic things.

And just because Javanese people historically were Muslims, a large majority of them are actually budhhist, a religion that would do you well to research. Regardless of all those FACTS, Barack was raised CATHOLIC! You must be a racist. Religion, race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation should not matter, its your character and Barack has more CHARACTER than almost any politician out there.

Perez, like the rest of the creepy left wing media, carefully chose an unattractive pic of Clint for the main photo. What a joke - Perez is not even one percent of one percent as talented and creative as Clint Eastwood. Talk about jealousy!!!!! As far as his empty chair speech, well, dah — of course, an empty chair represents a faux president. Welcome to dumbed-down Amerika, where the slick politicians easily fool the not-so-smart people to gain control and power. Remember kids, politicians don't make our lives better - they just tax and regulate us, whereas people like Clint Eastwood and Steve Jobs actually build and create stuff to make life better!

Obama doesn't need more time to fix the economy, his ideas are the problem not lack of time. If I had to hire a financial planner, Romney would get the job hands down, he has actual experience at, and has been successful (success is not a bad word)! Obama is just doesn't understand how to fix it, his minded doesn't think that way. He has risen to his own level of incompetence!

Re: yea.. – and you forgot, he was also impeached!

  57. Carenars says – reply to this

Some people insist Barack Obama is a good guy with a good heart. They say his only reason for seeking re-election is the good impulse to serve the best interests of the people and defend the defenseless. Do his words match his actions? Do his policies deliver the good outcomes he promised?
First, and foremost, let’s look at his attitude toward our most basic God-given right, the right to life.
Barack Obama is on record voting consistently in support of partial birth abortion and induced abortion infanticide. How can a caring person vote over and over for late-term abortion, and partial birth abortion, even going so far as to vote in favor of killing children that survive abortion outside the womb.
They call it infanticide, a sanitized word for murder. By his actions he has provided increased funding for abortionists, a sanitized term for murderers. One of his first executive orders allowed your tax dollars to fund abortion overseas. Via healthcare “reform’” he now digs further into your pocket to finance murder of little babies, a central tenet of his ideology.
This is a good guy? These are good outcomes? This is defending the defenseless?
If he denies the right to life for the most defenseless among us, what makes you think he will defend your right to life?

  58. Carenars says – reply to this

    How about old folks?
It cannot be denied Barack Obama cut Medicare to fund ObamaCare. It is clear his “reform” system deprives treatment for seniors deemed too old to justify the expense. He has done nothing to save Medicare or Social Security. It is clear his ideology makes second class citizens of seniors. If anybody is pushing Granny off a cliff, it’s Barack Obama.
This is a good guy? This is a good hearted man defending the defenseless?

His tax and spend and steal-from-one-to-give-to-another ideology is destroying the middle class and the hopes of college graduates. Half of them can’t find work. Obamanomics has successfully created crushing and rapidly growing debt that kills any chance of prosperity for our kids and grandkids. Instead of listening to his advisors and his party leaders and changing course to help people, he plays golf, campaigns, takes expensive trips, and sends his wife on even more expensive trips.
This is a good guy? This is a guy that cares?

  59. Carenars says – reply to this

Worse still, his horrendous economic policies coupled with drastic cuts in defense put us all at risk, especially our military volunteers.
Barack Obama encourages our enemies, insults and humiliates our allies, and then expects us to cheer him when he shows up to reassure us a vote for him is a vote for security.
His policy in Afghanistan—-disarming our soldiers when training Afghan personnel—resulted in at least 100 of our men being murdered by those very trainees. Many more have been wounded. Telegraphing our surrender by naming a pullout date encouraged Taliban and al Qaeda terrorists to escalate, resulting in even more American deaths. Afghanistan, where there was once the promise of freedom, has become little more than a killing ground spiraling downward into chaos.

He talks about protecting and defending the Constitution (the oath he took with his fingers crossed behind his back) then subverts it at every turn. Examples of his complete disregard for the rule of law and the Constitution:
-Engages war in Libya by circumventing Congress altogether
-Uses the most corrupt, underhanded and devious means possible, ramming ObamaCare against the will of the majority
-”Reforms” welfare law by reducing the work requirements WITHOUT consulting or involving Congress
-Covert use of drones in other lands, including our own, with no authorization, engaging indiscriminate killing

  62. Carenars says – reply to this

-Uses the EPA to install Cap ‘n Trade when Congress would not
-Directs DOJ to ignore the penalty phase after the conviction of Black Panthers intimidating voters in 2008
-Refuses to defend standing law, his sworn duty as Chief Executive according to the Constitution
-Promotes indefinite detention without filing charges
-Sues states that have every right to secure their borders and manage voter eligibility
-Uses stimulus money to reward political allies and operatives, engaging in blatant and corrupt cronyism
-Threatens and intimidates the Supreme Court whenever he senses they might rule against him
-Demands an oil company put up $20 billion in reparations without a court ruling or legislative action, even before anyone had a chance to determine responsibility for the Gulf Oil spill
-Funds and conspires with public employee unions to command electoral outcomes against the will of the majority
-Destroys our ally in Egypt allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to set up shop, destabilizing the entire region

  63. Carenars says – reply to this

This is a good man with good intentions? This is a man whose words and deeds line up? This is an honest, law-abiding individual who only wants to serve the public interest and defend the defenseless?
It has taken years for people to start looking beyond the bright smile and the glittering words. It has taken years for them to start evaluating the man by watching his actual behavior and seeing the terrible results of his policies.
The majority now understands he cares more about his ideology than he does about them, that he will say and do anything to hold on to power, only to glorify himself.
And this is the essential reason he will lose in November.

It is history and nothing can change it.
The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd, 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House
of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

    the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is
    "Bush's Fault", think about this:
January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
    The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
Fuel prices were under $1.65 a gallon.
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB

Remember that day…January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.Barney Franks significant other, Herb Moses, was the CEO of Fannie Mae!
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES! THANK YOU Barney for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment … to this CRISIS by (among MANY other
things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES! (BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).
Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did
fall!) And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress, especially BARNEY!!!! So when someone tries to blame Bush…REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"
Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal
and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.

Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the
    Republican budgets.
That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending.
After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is REALLY saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for, and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."
There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!
"The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are
outnumbered by those who vote for a living."
And as an after thought did you notice when the economy started showing improvements? The day the House of Representatives went back to the Republicans to try to curb spending. January 3, 2011.

Re: pdrocksmysocks – How can you say the Republicans halted everything for Obama when both houses of Congress were controlled by Democrats in Pelosi and Reid. Obama had card blanche to do as he wanted.
    1. First he was supposed to be the most transparent President in history and yet all the Obamacare was done behind closed doors.
    2. He said he would cut the deficit in half during his term and yet it continues to climb under his "leadership"
    3. With the President and both houses of congress being Democrats in the first 2 years of his presidency, he did not nor did congress produce a budget that was actually signed. Oh and Reid will still not agree to a budget to date.
    4. The President is supposed to uphold the constitution and enforce the laws of the land, but his Homeland Security and ICE groups are not performing their jobs and obstructing justice in regards to the Nations' laws on Immigration. As President you are not allowed to ignore a law just because you don't feel like it.
    5. If he was supposed to help the unions then why is he holding up the Keystone pipeline efforts
    6. What happened to all the shovel ready jobs from the TARP funds? Where did all that stimulus money go? The Democrats had full control of it.

This is not an emotional rant just an honest statement of facts. That is all that should matter when making a decision on our next president. What did a person say / promise they would do and what exactly did they do.

America, if you vote the republicans in, you are going to be ridiculed all over the world. It's taken this long for Obama to build up any level of respect for American's in Europe and the rest of the world. Bush made you all look like war-mongaring fools Romney & Co. will destroy your country. You are so lucky to have a guy with a good heart on your side.

Obama is a hoax. He doesn't even exist. What you see on your TV or computer are just special effects. I mean, have you ever actually seen Obama in person?

Is he feeling his age? I was embarrassed for him and pathetic came to mind! I will not be voting Republican as the more I read about Mitt and Bain Capital the more I realize he really doesn't care about the people that were impacted by his Companies takeovers and buyouts. I do not think he is sincere and doesn't seem to think we are smart enough to see through his lies.

The question is, do you want another four years of the same, or would you give a candidate who said, "I want to help you" the chance to do that?

I prefer to vote for a candidate that says "I will not help you." I don't want things to be the same that is so boring, I want things to be worse.

    Re: sukhi
You say he "lost and stole" the last election…did you know Obama outsourced the jobs counting votes this year, to a Spanish company owned by his main man George Soros? Yeah, one of the richest men in the world. The same man who has donated millions to Obama super PACs. Seems like a conflict of interest to me. Not only that, but the pure hypocrisy, while he runs ads against Romney, saying Romney outsourced jobs while he was at Bain.

I'm in the middle and thought his speech was funny, yet it didn't make me want to vote Republican. Guess I'll vote Libertarian this year, plus the Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson makes more sense than Obama or Romney.
