How on EARTH does he factor into all of this?
Apparently, John Mayer could be in some serious trouble, as he's somehow been brought into a massive lawsuit over a $100 million Ponzi scheme in Seattle…and he could be holding almost $500,000 of dirty money!
Earlier this year, Darren Berg was sentenced to 18 years in prison for screwing investors out of serious money through his company.
Trustees have now been given the responsibility of attempting to recover all of the missing millions, and in the process, have reportedly uncovered that the SINGER is one of the individuals who received funds from the scheme when a booking agency, Grabow & Associates, was paid by the company!
And although there's no clear answer as to how he works into this mess, he and the agency may have close to $465,000 of the missing millions!
Mayer's lawyer asserts:
"John Mayer performed at a corporate event in 2008 and was paid for his services. The opportunity was brought to John through his talent agency, CAA.”
Ah…and slowly it all seems to fall into place!
That stinks, though! Especially because he seems to only be LOOSELY associated by extension!
Here's hoping that that's his only involvement in all of this craziness, and that the money can be returned to its proper owners!
