Milla Jovovich Blocked Resident Evil Producers From Capitalizing Off Aurora Killings!

| Filed under: Film FlickersWacky, Tacky & TrueMilla JovovichBusiness Blitz

Whoa!! We can't believe this nearly happened!

In the wake of the unthinkable Aurora killings during the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, a few filmmakers concocted a terrible marketing idea for their action flick.

The studio behind Resident Evil: Retribution asked franchise star Milla Jovovich to storm the Japanese theater premiering their movie with an arsenal of fake weapons and pretend to shoot the place up!!!

What the…? We cannot believe ANYONE would recommend that horribly insensitive plan of action!?

Milla admitted:

“They asked me to come out and shoot zombies in the theater. And I was like, ‘There’s absolutely no way I’m doing anything violent in a movie theater.’”

The marketing "geniuses" behind this asinine plan better thank their lucky stars Milla a class-act(ress) and a sensible person in addition to being a breathtaking beauty who can carry a poorly-written franchise on her back for a few too many films.

This could've been the marketing disaster of the century! And imagine how offended survivors and friends of the deceased would've been!

We applaud you, Milla!

And we hope whomever pushed for this terrible marketing ploy has learn from this narrowly averted disaster!

I'm sure the story was fake. Just a PR stunt to create publicity. No way in hell would they of went through with it. Looks like it worked without them even having to do it.

*hey guys, lets tell people we were planning on having Mila go into a theater with prop guns and have them shoot zombies..we won't actually have to do it because this story will give us the publicity*

    Already worked.

"poorly-written franchise on her back for a few too many films" Wow really do you know how big of a following this Moive has?! Resident Evil always opens in the top 5 at the box office. The only one I haven't seen was the last one, but ALL the others were great movies! I mean your the grown ass man that still reads Twilight and wrote a CHILDS book so what do you know about good writing……don't worry I'll wait.

Was it the - really - the Producers, Perez, or was it the Japanese company hired to handle the marketing in Tokyo? You might want to get your facts straight before the lawyers come a knock'n…

lol at your backhanded compliments! and who wouldnt refuse to do that? hardly makes her a saint just sensible and not effing crazy like the people who came up with the idea. But was this after the Aurora killings or before? If it was before then I see nothing wrong with it as it would just be a silly fun thing to do. Lets not get make evrything serious.
