Wes Bentley's past came back to haunt him this week and was denied entry into Canada where he planned to promote latest film at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The Hunger Games actor was arrested in 2008 for heroin possession. Since our friendly neighbors to the north do not allow convicted foreign criminals past the border, he couldn't attend the festival screening of The Time Being.
He's now married and has completely turned his life around, so it's understandable that he's pretty bummed about the whole thing. A source close to him explained:
“Wes really wanted to go to the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his movie and had his team contact the head of TIFF to try and pull some strings with the government. There was nothing anyone could do. Wes was really upset and felt awful about not being able to partake in the promotion of the film.”
We can sympathize with him, but it's not the end of the world and all he can do is continue moving forward with his life.
Or take South Park's advice and Blame Canada.
