Well, she's just had a number 1 single in What Doesn't Kill You, and her album is on it's way to reaching platinum status in the US by the end of the year. I'd say she's doing a pretty good job of staying relevant on her own.
She does the covers because she likes fans to request songs so that every show is a little more special and unique. She usually learns the cover the day of the show too.
I don't get why everyone's hating on the fact that she is singing covers, I love it when these singers do covers at their concerts!
