Texas Principle Shuts Down ENTIRE Cosmetology Program After Gay Student Enrolls

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GaySad Sad

This is just low.

A principle of a Texas technical school has decided to shut down the cosmetology program all because a gay man enrolled in the classes!

Ugh! How deplorable!

The Taylor Career Center has been offering the adult program since 2009, but that all changed after the principle Thomas Amons noticed 22-year-old Kwmane Gray attending the classes.

Since it's illegal to deny admission to a student strictly because of his or her sexual orientation, he said he'd rather cut the program than have "flamboyantly gay guys" roaming the campus.

How is that even allowed??

Now, the instructor is out of a job and a lot of people will have to put their education on hold as they look for another cosmetology program in the area that doesn't discriminate.

Horrible!!!

Principle?? Come on man, at your level of popularity you really do need to proof-read. If you wish to reach a new plateau of respect in the journalism community you must be more diligent! I see far too many silly typos on this website. Hell, I'd even be willing to do it for you! (for a small fee, of course) :)

Re: Lady Who? – Nasty homophobic bullying comments…you know I always know which thread you will troll on. Typical GOP asshole, all about Freedom of choice until it infringes on your mid west trailer trash views. Try leaving the USA occasionally, that it , if you own a passport!

lol - we're talking about COSMETOLOGY! Hair dressers and Make Up artists? They're rejecting GAY MEN from hair dressing and Make Up classes? How do they even have ANY students? Enjoy the lawsuit Taylor.

Im responding because Im not sure this is political. The reason I say that is because this is a private business so no government involvement. I disagree with his position (although this may just be a huge stereotype and identifying myself insensitive) but who runs a cosmetology school and does not expect to have gay men attend. I guess he was just running it for women. Being anti-anything or pro-anything doesn't always have to be political. Sometimes someone's just a dick.

Re: tadge – Lady Who? is ridiculing Perez's writer for his/her bad spelling. The writer should have used the correct spelling of principal instead of principle. Simmah down. LoL

As for the story? Really? How asinine!! Literally, some of the BEST make-up and hair stylists are gay.

Re: WillowWynde – This isn't a private business. This is at Beaumont Independent School District which operates on tax payer's money. This is a secular, public school campus where personal, religious beliefs have no relevance in how the school is operated.

Please, please, please sign up for a GED refresher course. Your ignorance is an insult to your readers.

Dude….it's PRINCIPAL NOT principle. Come the f-ck on.

As many gays as possible should enroll there…in every program the school offers. After getting in, they should let their rainbow flags fly. Shut down the whole school. Done.

  21. 21

Why would we expect any different from Texas? Yes, gays in cosmotology is just unheard of, right? Can't wait to hear the backlash from this… people in Texas are becoming less ignorant in the past few years, so I'm hoping the residents with a brain and a soul will gather and make this principal beg for forgiveness. That would be sweet. And the following lawsuit will be interesting as well.

  22. 22

When you own something you can do what you want. but the gay PC police say you cannot discriminate… so the result is the owner shuts down the offending program. Thank you gay activists!!

Perez, please hire writers who know how to spell. Principal, not principle. Principle means like a moral/ethical belief.

  24. 24

Greatjob on the schools part! That's one way of keeping "them" out off the classroom!
