The American Idol Judges Are OFFICIALLY Announced! Find Out Who Made The Cut HERE!
Katie Couric was SPOT-ON!
After MONTHS of speculation and rumors running rampant, the official line-up for the judges panel of American Idol's 12th season has been formally announced by Fox this morning!
And just as it was anticipated, the lucky four will be Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, and Keith Urban!
Mike Darnell, Fox’s President of Alternative Entertainment, says in a statement:
“With an unparalleled star like Mariah, fan-favorite Randy, chart-toppers like Nicki and Keith and our incomparable host Ryan, we’ve put together one of the most exciting judging panels around.”
And Simon Fuller elaborates:
“With the exciting addition of Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj, alongside Randy Jackson, American Idol’s star power has never been so great.”
And neither have their PAYCHECKS!
Insiders reveal that while she's not making as much as Mariah, Her Minajesty's contract is close to $12 million! Urban, who also announced he would not be returning for The Voice Australia this week, will be earning $3 - $5 million!
But don't worry, all that money will be put to good use SOON!
In fact, for those potential contestants auditioning for the reality competition in New York, like TODAY soon!
That's right, all four we be present today at the auditions, so get prepped, folks!
It's going to be an ALL-NEW Idol this year!
And with its star-power now officially rivaling that of The X Factor and The Voice, we think it's going to be VERY inneresting to see which one fans enjoy the most!

I'm team the voice here. I tried to want to like x factor because of Britney but is SUCKS. Idol has seen it's best days. I like Mariah but when she SINGS. Couldnt care less about the rest of them and closet case seacrest is reason enough alone to not watch.

So sad to see the demise of one of my favorite shows - when someone who relies solely on autotune is a JUDGE….the show has lost its credibility. It would have been great with Mariah, Keith and Randy….thats all I have to say.
Mariah isn't articulate and seems too self-centered. Nicki Minaj can't sing but maybe Keith Urban will bring Nicole Kidman and ask her to reprise Moulin Rouge. Then we can all forget we're watching a dead show.

The show is over and out. Pointless comp to find the next big flop. Doesnt matter who's judging at this point its formula is dull.
My wife and I have not missed one season of Idol. I definitely miss Simon, although the X-Factor sucks and we will not watch it. Until Minaj was named a judge we still anticipated watching the upcoming season. Now that she has been named a judge we will NOT watch this season. She is a joke of an entertainer and has no clue what she is doing, not to mention the denigration of the Catholic church on the awards show she was on. This is the beginning of the end for American Idol.
