Italy's Number One Single Is…This???

Attention America: We apologize in advance for the brain cell sucking sound you are about to hear (above), but Italy's #1 hit single is so awful, we just HAD to share!

While Carly Rae Jepson was making us belt out Call Me Maybe for the past few months, Italians have been squeaking their voices to the max to sing along with Il Pulcino Pio — a children's song that has climbed to the top of the iTunes charts!

Similar to America's song of the summer, Pulcino Pio's song has become so popular that it has led to SEVERAL viral parodies. Here's one of grown men singing the Kidz Bop jammer of sort in their underwear. You'd think that would salvage the song for us… yeah, not so much.

Then again, maybe that's what Italian kids are into these days.

We never EVER thought we'd be saying this, but…Rebecca Black's Friday was a masterpiece compared to this rifiuti. LOLz!

    ok, I'm italian and i can assure you that most of us hate this song.we hate it so much that a few days ago, on the news they said that a man was beaten because he was singing this song after others told him to stop.anway, this fact make me hate this "song" even more!and it's not really a kids song: yes, they might like it, but here in Italy at least once a year, there is a stupid song like this one that becomes very famous and nobody knows why!

    Beating someone for singing this song is STOOOOOOOOPID, as this song really is. The Pulcino Pio (Pio Chick) dies at the end smashed by the truck..oh, oh! Ny daughter was pretty shocked. Damn. Let's face it. It's silly but nice :)
