Randy Newman, the fingers on the piano and voice behind You've Got A Friend In Me, has released a new song called I'm Dreaming.
Don't expect to hear this in the next Toy Story movie though. It's a politically charged satire of (some) Americans' desire for a "more qualified white man" to be president again.
In a press release that discusses opposition to Barack Obama simply because of his skin color, the songwriter explained:
"I think there are a lot of people who find it jarring to have a black man in the White House and they want him out. They just can’t believe that there’s not a more qualified white man. You won’t get anyone, and I do mean anyone, to admit it.”
Despite his fears of receiving backlash from conservatives, Newman has made the song available on his website. In exchange for the free download though, he's dreaming his fans will donate to the United Negro College Fund.
We can get on board with that, so click HERE for the download and HERE to make a donation!
