It's a mixed bag of news for Baz Luhrmann and his loyal Luhrmannites!

The good? Warner Bros announced today they plan to release The Great Gatsby on May 10, 2013!

Sweeet! We can't wait to watch Leonardo DiCaprio channel his inner-Robert Redford when he plays the role of America's favorite self-made millionaire, Jay Gatsby, on the big screen!

The bad news? A long, long time before any of us were born, the Mayans predicted the world might end December 21, 2012!

Whoops! The studio might really regret pushing back their opening date!

Assuming the Earth's clock keeps right on ticking through the year's end, we are absolutely stoked to watch Leo, Tobey Maguire, and the affable Carey Mulligan's adaptation of this literary classic!

I have believed the 12/21/12 prediction for many years, and now it is here
If we just look around at what is happening to the world, wars, floods, fires, earthquakes etc
And than the election About 90 days to go and counting

Ah Perez, I love your site yet rarely have time to comment but when I saw this I just had to say: "You're great & thanks for mentioning the 'unmentionable' possible end of the world in Dec. 2012 'cuz it's on my mind & like you, if the world doesn't end I will look fwd to seeing this flick - keep up the good work with your 'kinder/gentler' site - I think it's worth it plus dinosaurs like me enjoy 'reading between the lines'

Perhaps Amanda Bynes would have been better off giving Miley Cyrus her bong!

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
