Okay, tell me if this is too far fetched! What I see, is our main cast attending a funeral for someone. Maybe someone who dies in the first episode. They don't look too upset about any of it though so it mustn't be anyone too close too them. Well, Elena looks upset but she also looks a lot more disheveled so maybe it's just her going through some baby vampire growing pains.

Tyler's smirk and furrowed brow is definitely giving off a Klaus vibe (well done to Mr. Trevino) and his body language seems really possessive towards Caroline. Could just be me thinking that though.

Anyways, looks like something has gone amiss at the funeral in one of the stills. And in one of the next ones you see Caroline and Stefan studying something that when zoomed in looks a lot like a wooden bullet with Tyler indisposed on the couch.

In the end of season 3, Tyler's mom tells them to leave town because Alaric outed them all to the council. Maybe the towns people wised up? And have started targeting them (could explain what went amiss at the funeral).

I'd like to think that Klaus/Tyler jumped in front of a bullet to spare Caroline, which may explain her expression in one of the stills. Though that could just be me talking as a Klaroline shipper.

I'm not convinced they're even attending a funeral. There are people in all different colors sitting in the church, I know not all people wear black to a funeral but Tyler isn't even wearing a tie and Caroline looks to be in a strapless dress. My guess is its probably a memorial for Alaric and in true VD fashion. something shocking happens during it.

Its not matt… You see him in the trailer video alot… I think its the council thats attacking them half wat through hence why everyone is bending down but the vampires arent.. And i dont think its funeral either,, probs another founder family thing …

Either Elana isnt a vampire cuz Bonnie and the Scooby Gang found a way to re humanize her or she is a vampire and someone yet again lost their life trying to save her, or am I confusing True Blood for TVD. Nope. Elana is not as annoying as Sookie, but its pretty close.

Re: StarzInHerEyez – It's definitley not Elena's funeral …there has been talk about Bonnie doing a spell to humanize Elena but I doubt it….It's either Alarics or Paster Young funeral I remember reading April will come back to town because of her fathers death and she likes Jeremy which will cause a bonnir Jeremy april love triangle..!and It's Elena

This season just keeps getting better! After seeing the photo at the church initially, a co-worker at DISH also assumed that it was the funeral for Alaric. Most events in Mystic Falls end with tragedy, so it doesn’t seem surprising that Pastor Young would take the opportunity to try and eliminate the vampires. I am curious to find out for sure when I watch the episode with my Hopper. With my busy schedule interfering with so many shows, I love that I can set it to record entire seasons automatically. This seems like a tense episode, knowing that someone will experience a “tragedy” makes it even more so.
