X Factor Judges Left Stunned By Willie Jones' Jaw-Dropping Audition!

| Filed under: TV NewsMusic MinuteBritney SpearsSimon CowellDemi LovatoX FactorReality TV

Before the storm set in on set of X Factor’s Greensboro auditions last night, one unsuspecting contestant took the stage!

Willie Jones — who shares the home state of Louisiana with Britney — kicked off the show in what judge Demi Lovato referred to as Fresh Prince attire!

In your typical case of not judging a book by its cover, Willie stepped up and caught EVERYONE by surprise!

Check out his audition (above), which made the judges' AND the audience’s mouths drop!

WOW! Sounds like Willie is on his way to becoming a frontrunner in the competition! Totally original and something the show has yet to see!

Ginormous, big fat YES!

Anyone that wants to earn some easy money from just browsing the internet? You could earn up to 200 dollars a month buy just being active, and the best part is that it is completely free =).

    Here is the link=

has no one heard Josh Turner sing that song?? it IS his song… it is definitely NOT original… that is exactly how the song is. lame

How come you haven't posted the incredible performance by Jeffery Gutt?

He was likable and had a fine voice. I just don't know if it's a $5 mil. voice. There are many country artists out there with a very similar sound. If he was on the Voice, he may not have been picked.

i never watched x factor b4, but im only watching it cause of britney and simon. but wow. he was amazing.

Oh.My.God. This kid is beyond handsome with a beautiful smile. And all of his family members are good looking too. What a voice. So happy for him. I hope he goes far in this competition.

His voice was not that great compared to other country artists I've heard sing live. However, I have to give him props for his strategy of singing a song that completely opposed his style to make himself stand out. It worked!

He sounded way better in person than on this video- I was at the auditions and he was incredible, this doesn't do him justice at all.

I think they misused the word "original", I'm pretty sure that's just the way that song goes. I think they meant "unexpected", the song choice was unexpected biased on his look.

my mom is friends with his family, they are all talented singers (mother and father) great guy too. hope he goes far, rep our hometown of Shreveport,LA Willie!!

There was absolutely nothing original about this performance. He sang the Josh Turner song exactly how Josh Turner sings it. Exactly how Scotty McCreery sang it on American Idol 2 years ago… Remember Scotty… he sang that song like 20 times during auditions/Hollywood week and then when the top 3 went home he sang it with Josh Turner during his homecoming concert!
While Willie Jones does have a decent voice, it wasn't nearly as good as Josh Turner or even Scotty McCreery and I just don't get why he received so much praise and comments about originality. Unexpected, yes. Original, no.

Willie Jones was amazing last night with that deep country voice. I was talking to some officemates at DISH about his performance and they were all expecting something completely different before he started singing. I’m glad X Factor is starting to show some contestants that have some real talent. The first couple episodes were extremely disappointing. I’ve been busy with class at night so I’m watching the auditions on Prime Time Anytime on my Hopper. My DVR automatically records all the prime time shows on the four major networks for me. Willie is really likeable so I hope he goes a long way this season. It will be interesting to see how he does with some different songs.

Re: CaritaDeCleopatra – I'm sure when they used the word original, they meant a young black man singing country music. Charlie Pride is the last one that I can think of that made it. Give the young man his props, he has a gimmick and marketed himself right off the bat. It made him memorable and ORIGINAL. He'll certainly go far.

Willie is absolutely adorable. With his voice, at 17, he will definitely go far, and with his looks and smile, he will go even farther!!

he's only a kid though…if he's this good now before getting trained by pros then imagine where he can go. Don't compare him with others…he's original by being such a young singer, also being black and singing a country tune while still staying hip to this generation (clothing wise)

Re: Leslie – Whatever! If you watch any of those shows from week to week, that is all contestants do, sing other people's songs. And they don't do them any differently. Demi, or whatever that chick's name is, was basically making fun of him when he came out, saying he looked like the Fresh Prince. And then what kind of advice was that, anyway? He looks different. I am sure they all expected him to do some silly rap. I don't even watch the show, but every now and then click on a link showing someone from it. What he sang was totally unexpected and that made a difference.

Re: Meghan99 – If you truely believe contestants on The Voice are selected purely on their voice, you're sadly mistaken. If The Voice was truely dependent upon someone's voice and nothing else the the show would be on the radio.

Will Jones, is the total package, he has the voice, the looks, is extremely charismatic and will appeal not only to all the young girls but a few older ones.

I come from London, England and I'd buy Willie Jones's Cd tomorrow morning.
