Katy Perry is honored as Billboard Magazine's Woman of the Year

Despite all the ups and downs 2012 has brought Katy Perry's love life, she has spent the whole year on a professional high note!

That's why Billboard Magazine is honoring the pop star as 2012's Woman of the Year!

Billboard's editorial director praised Katy Cat, saying:

"Katy Perry broke into the industry not even five years ago, and has already accomplished more than most artists can hope for in anentire career. We are thrilled to celebrate these incredible achievements and her amazing past 12 months by honoring her with the Billboard Woman of the Year Award.     Hmm, isn't kinda early for "woman of the year"….I could understand if they publish it in late Nov-early Dec, but in September? I thought she deserved it last year when she scored all those #1's, she didn't do much of anything this year…Just saying….

    Way to go Katy Perry! Congrats on getting this Billboard award. She totally deserves it. If it wasn't for Adele having such a big couple of years at the same time, I bet Katy would have WON at least two or three Grammy awards by now. I was really disappointed that she didn't get at least one Grammy.

    I think she is clearly the most talented female musician of her generation. Heck, she's probably already one of the most successful female musicians of ALL TIME … right up there with Madonna. Madonna didn't do as well as Katy did on her first two albums. I hope Katy has 5-6 more smash hit albums. I hope this is only the beginning of her massively successful career. I'm looking forward to Katy's next album.

    I hope Katy is working very hard on her music …. practicing her singing, playing guitar, keyboards, writing songs, etc. I hope she's a songwriting machine like Taylor Swift is. I hear Taylor writes dozens of songs every year.

    I also hope that John Mayer isn't going to end up screwing Katy over and making her so depressed she can't work hard on her music. I want to see Katy healthy and happy and on top of her game once she goes into the recording studio to work on the next album.

    Maybe she'll have six #1 hits on her next album, break Michael Jackson's record for most #1s on a single album and finally get the Grammy awards she should already have in her trophy case.
