Well, this was nice of her!
While chatting up Jay Leno during her first appearance on The Tonight Show, Ann Romney gave Barack Obama the only compliment he's probably ever going to get from his competition and said:
"I love the fact that we have the first African American president. That means to me we're leaving our prejudices behind. I would hope that if Mitt were elected, we would see more of the same."
She's referring to the fact that he's a Mormon, of course, which is totally fine by us. We don't understand why a presidential candidate's particular religion really matters.
That is, unless that particular religion gets in the way of extinguishing ALL prejudices that hold this great nation back.
If Mitt Romney gets elected, we certainly hope we would see "more of the same" acceptance and tolerance for ALL minorities too. It's just too bad the Republican party has decided to make a national gay marriage ban part of the platform.
