Nothing's official yet, but it looks the film Everest has found itself a leading actor!
And we're loving who they've picked.
Tom Hardy is in early negotiations to star in Everest, which is about the infamous climber George Mallory who tried to climb Mt. Everest three times in the 1920's.
The director of the film will be Doug Liman whose previous body of work includes The Bourne Identity and Mr. And Mrs. Smith.
Liman wanted to find an actor that could handle the rigors and training it would take even to pretend to climb Mt. Everest for a film, and Hardy, who had done just a masterful job in The Dark Knight Rises playing Bane, seems to fit that bill.
George Mallory was the only climber to take part in three expeditions to Mt. Everest in the 1920's . He died just before his 38th birthday while making a summit attempt on the third voyage.
We're already waiting to grab our popcorn and check out this flick!
