But yes, it has happened!
The Purple One made a surprise appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival Saturday night when he joined Mary J. Blige on set to perform the self-penned Nothing Compares 2 U, but this past Tuesday, during his Welcome 2 Chicago show in the windy city, it was HE who enlisted the help of a special guest to accompany his rendition of the same track!
And who better to belt out his re-interpretated, funk-a-licious version of the former Sinéad O'Connor smash than Chi-Town native Jennifer Hudson?!

@airbells I went to all three shows at the United Center and I do not know what Prince "did to his fans" at the UC on Monday other than put on a really good show. It wasn't as great as Tuesday and Wednesday, but it was still a better show than most of the people out there today. There were sound issues that prevented him from playing guitar on Monday. That was the only thing missing from the show. Other than that, what problem did you have with it? The encore that some people missed wasn't an official encore. Prince was ready to go to HOB but so many fans stayed that he came out and did two more songs after having the band play an instrumental. Time ran out at HOB, and that sucked. However, he made up for it by offering a complimentary ticket to Wednesday's show to anyone who purchased a ticket for the HOB on Monday. I already had tix for the UC, so I got my tix and gave them to some people who absolutely loved Wednesday's show.
I would love to see him perform it with Sinead. No one, even Prince has been able to put so much heart and feeling into that song since her. Prince even said it himself.
