Sunshine and rainbows and pink fluffy clouds! What joyous news we have to share!!!!

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman welcomed their first child today. The actress' rep confirmed the birth of their beautiful bundle, saying:

“We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born Sept. 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this most special time in our lives.”

Aww! That's really pretty! We like the name Olive! Sounds very indie — just like Drew!

I am thinking Olive has something to do with the cartoon Drew did a while back. Olive the other reindeer.

Well, congratulations to Drew and her husband. I'm sure they're over the moon with the birth of their child.

I hope little Olive treats Drew just the same as Drew has treated her own poor mother. What goes around comes around.

Re: boston61 – Drew and her mother had a very complicated relationship. As a child her mother used her to get fame and was a horrible influence on her life. Starting by taking her to parties when she was under 10 years old.. all of which lead to Drew getting invloved with drugs, alcohol and growing up way too fast. She had every right to have some negative and confused feelings towards her throughout her life, and to separate herself at times. She is the one who made the choice to change her life for the better, and she has in every way.

On a happier note; congrats to Drew and Will. I just had a feeling she was going to name a baby girl Olive (as "W" said referring to the Christmas cartoon she voiced). I bet she is a beautiful baby, just like her mom!

I think it's the other way around. Drew's mom treated her like shit, and was around when drew started drinking and doing drugs at a very early age (a la DUIna Lohan). Drew grew up well and to be a beautiful person IN SPITE of her mother. I think she will be an amazing mother.

I am really happy for them.

boston61- you sound retarted. Drew's mom was a horrible mother, she was around, raising her, and in charge when Drew started drinking and doing drugs at a very early age (a la DUIna Lohan). Drew grew up and turned out beautifully IN SPITE of her mother. I think she will be an amazing mom, again IN SPITE of not having that modeled for her by her own mother.

"Retarded" sweety. Not "retarted"- she didn't get made in a tart again. Elocution is your friend. Vernacular is not.
"IN SPITE of not having that modeled for her by her own mother" Hmmm… I think you need some transitives and participles sweety.
