Will this move save The Today Show's failing ratings?
NBC sure hopes so!
The network has decided to have Ann Curry appear on its flagship morning news program more often as a correspondent.
She reported from the Syrian border on Monday morning and according to sources:
"She will be featured on a much more routine basis going forward … Fans of The Today Show let the network know they missed seeing Ann and the plan going forward is to use her more. Hopefully that might bolster the show's falling ratings."
Inneresting they are relying on her to boost the ratings after they blamed her for their decline in the first place…
As long as Ann is happy to do it, we are too and that sounds like the case. The show insider continued to explain:
"Ann is truly doing what she loves the most now, reporting from war-torn countries and bringing viewers stories of people that are affected by the destruction in the region … She certainly didn't like getting sacked from being the co-host, but Ann is making the best of the situation"
And we'd say she's in the best possible situation now. Not only is she doing what she loves, but she's in high demand to do it!
Who wants to be stuck behind a boring desk anyway?
So nice to see that Ann is getting the recognition from her employers that she deserves!
