It's bad enough when a fledgeling show is cancelled by its network after only an episode or two, like the recently axed Made In Jersey, but we can imagine it must be even worse to be picked up to series…and then pulled before even MAKING it to air!
Which is what has sadly happened to Dane Cook's previously-upcoming midseason comedy, Next Caller!
The NBC series set at a satellite radio station was picked up back in May and already filmed four of the six-episode order, but according to network sources, execs felt it wasn't evolving in the desired direction, pulled the plug on the project, and will NOT even be airing anything they've completed so far!
Here's hoping that their two other midseason comedies - 1600 Penn and Save Me - fare off at least a LITTLE better than this one!
And by that we mean make it to primetime! If even for one night!
Better luck next time, Dane!
