Showrunner and our personal dreamweaver, Ryan Murphy asked The Fabulous Mz. M to come on the FOX show during a charity gala in NYC Monday night.
Ry broke the news via Twitter, writing:
I just asked the incredible Bette Midler to be on Glee in front of 1,000 people. I hope she says yes!

I like the idea of Bette Midler playing Sarah Jessica Parker’s sister, I think they resemble each other, plus they’re both legendary actors and would add so much to the show. I love Glee and adding her to the show would be perfection. I’m glad my DISH coworker suggested I watch Glee this season, I’ve been recording it on my Hopper with the PrimeTime Anytime feature. I love setting this up to record all prime time programming that comes on the four major networks.
In what possible realm of anyone's imagination could Bette play SJP's "sister"? You mean, her "older" sister, who has, like 30 years on her?
