Amy Adams' Janis Joplin Flick Is On The Cusp Of Production If Lee Daniels Directs It

| Filed under: Music MinuteFilm FlickersAmy Adams

About damn time!

Amy Adams has been attached to star as Janis Joplin in the biopic Get It While You Can since 2010, but producers have had a tough time finding a suitable director — until now!

Precious filmmaker Lee Daniels is in talks to take on the independent project. If he can be convinced to make the movie, production will finally begin in 2013!

The guy just wrapped his White House biopic, The Butler, so he should have learned a thing or two about adapting the lives of real people for the big screen.

If you've seen his first feature or perhaps his latest, The Paperboy, then you know he's got the gritty style that would match the iconic singers wild life.

Get your act together, Hollywood! This is one movie we would really like to see some day soon.

Why does this seem like the worst casting choice ever? High voiced actress who anunciates her ssssss's too much. Ugh.

a really fat renee zelwegger would do better as janis joplin. She looked so much liker in Cold Mountain.

Juliette Lewis would have been way better for the role!!

I just want a Janis Joplin biopic to be made stat. I've been waiting forever. Love her; she lives on through her music.

It's easier to make a young actor old than a old actor young, even with CGI. Amy Adams has a higher Q rating which equals money.

Evan Rachel Wood will be better for this role, i love amy but i don't see her as janis

Why must they mess with someone so iconic? And why must it be with someone so…i just can't. The film itself sounds like a good idea but…anyone else notice how casting for pretty much anything looks like monkeys pulling names out of a hat would make much more sense?

Not sure why everyone is doubting a 3-time (soon to be 4-time) Oscar nominee. Bank it. If Amy gets this role, it will be another Oscar nod for her.

Now come on! You know as well as everyone else that "Crystal Bowersox" is a much better choice to play Janis Joplin than Amy Adams. Watch Crystal on stage Janis`s songs. She even has a voice simular to Janis and she looks like Janis too. PS: Please check out Crystal Bowersox first before you decide on Amy Adams. Concerned, Glenn Sandberg PS: Amy Adams will protray Janis to stereotype. Crystal is the real choice here.

Re: Glenn A Sandberg – You took the words right out of my mouth! I have always thought that Crystal Bowersox would do a great job doing Janis Joplin. Come on Hollywood..,how many years have you been in works for this project? Get it together Man!!!!!
