Mario Lopez Pisses Off LGBT Fans By Mentioning Chick-Fil-A On Twitter

The protests in front of Chick-fil-A on both sides of the marriage equality debate may have died down, but the issue is still hot!
So hot that celebs are getting flack just by mentioning the fast food chain on Twitter.
Almost two weeks after Mario Lopez admitted he had a craving for the private company's food, LGBT activist Dan Savage and others are giving him a verbal spanking for the remark.
Here's what the Extra and X Factor host tweeted:
Why does it seem like I always crave Chick-Fil-A on Sundays?? #Frustrating
— Mario Lopez (@MarioLopezExtra) October 7, 2012
Lopez may find the timing of his cravings frustrating (Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays), but his gay fans find it frustrating that he still craves the fried chicken after COO Dan Cathy openly admitted to funding anti-gay organizations.
In response to the shout out, the Savage Love columnist wrote:
"Because you're a thoughtless jerk who just alienated the gay men you expected to buy your new line of crappy manpanties?"
Whether those manpanties are indeed crappy or not, we think Lopez just likes the chicken. He's had nothing but praise for his gay fans in the past, so we highly doubt he wanted to offend them.
That being said, he might want to refrain from mentioning Chick-fil-A in public ever again. Ha!

As usual, screw freedom of speech and screw having an opinion. God forbid the gays get pissy about someone's personal opinion.
Glad to see that you and the columnist took the higher road on this one and fought a man's innocent food tastes with hatred and bullying tactics. You think you're no longer a bully, but you're an even bigger one now than ever before. Just because you wrap it up a smile and write, "that being said" doesn't mean your hands are clean. You're a low life
Dan Savage is the master of bullying. He needs to permanently sit down and forever shut the fuck up. Savage has ZERO credibility when it comes to the subject of bullying
Listen, I'm all for gay marriage. I don't give a shit who people marry. I don't think it's right to deny people that and I would never give money to the anti-gay organizations. But it annoys me that some homosexuals are demanding respect and tolerance but don't give any in return. Dan Savage called him names for liking chicken? And then expects respect back? He's the guy who started the It Gets Better Project but bullies right back? Not cool.
People are ALWAYS going to have different opinions, you can't bully them to think like you.
you fuckers champion free speach until someone disagrees with you, then it's no holds barred hate and spewing vile judgemental feces. Your fucking hypocracy is obvious to everyone but yourselves.
It's so hard to imagine why hate crimes exist when reading this shit. A guy can't enjoy a chicken sandwich without being crucified by the very people who complain about bullying. I feel like supporting chick fil a just to spite people like perez and this fascist sack of shit savage.
If you go against the Gays you are damned. You have to agree with them or they will rain hell on you. You can't form your own opinion. They are bullies. They just don't want to admit that they are bullies!
Can't have free speech with out the okay from the gays.
I don't care if they get married but to push your opinions on everyone is bulling. They just get annoying after a while! I am sick of their whining.
He is desperate to make people believe he is straight.
I'm with him. Nothing like shopping in the mall and then going oh boy I'm gonna get me a Chick-Fil-A sandwich and them bam…….. it's closed… and you realize it's Sunday.
I support CFA owner for standing up for HIS values. They lose a lot of money by not being open on Sundays.
I would've been eating there all along. Their food sounds good and I've never tried it. You fucking homos stick to Wendy's.
Fucking carpet munchers.
I'm gay and I have to say that Dan Savage is undeniably overreacting like a little bitch. That tweet to Mario is so embarrassing. What a little bitch.
Re: Tee – Hey, speak for yourself! I'm not one of those gay men you talk about, and I'm glad I'm not.
Re: Tee – Its funny how you say "the gays" as if the few gays that get attention for being ridiculous represent a majority of gays. I'm a gay guy that couldn't care less if Mario likes Chick Fil A, and I don't appreciate you lumping me in with people like Dan Savage.
They are making liberals look bad seriously. I'm all for equal rights and ChickfilA Appreciation Day was stupid. However getting waffle fries tomorrow. Shame people can't eat where they want to. Hope the columnist doesn't buy gas. Those countries persecute gays.
Re: Tee – AMEN!! Couldn't have said it better myself!
No one infringed on Mario Lopez' freedom of speech. Freedom of speech doesn't mean you say whatever you want and no one else can comment. I know that people get confused about that–but we all have freedom of speech whether we're celebrities or not.
Re: raypearson – Freedom of Speech goes both ways. It doesn't mean you get to say whatever and everyone else has to shut up.
Re: Tee – Your reply is disgusting. Violence is okay because some people get upset over what Mario Lopez said?
Re: FooodieQ – How is freedom of speech screwed? Mario Lopez said what he wanted to say, Dan Savage said what he wanted to say? Where was freedom of speech infringed upon?
Re: raypearson – "You fuckers", huh? So every gay person is now condemned. And you have the nerve to preach about tolerance? Fuck yourself.
Re: notorious420 – "You fucking homos", huh? You have no right to preach about tolerance. What a bigot you are.
I am all for marriage equality but I honestly don't want to think about that when I stop at Chick-fil-A for a sandwich…It's someone's personal opinion and we all have opinions.
Re: Prince Charming – Who's stopping you from eating there. You want to give money to anti-gay organizations, by all means, eat at Chik-fil-a, but don't pretend to be all righteous about it.
Re: sick_girl – Yeah, how dare we ask people not to give money to companies that work to deny us our equal rights. How selfish.
Re: lala – Mario Lopez eats at a place where they give money to groups that work to deny gay people equal rights, gets criticized and you whine that he's bullied? You've led a sheltered life.
Jason Aldeans wife Jessica had a secret abortion after her last affair..She did want Jason to find out!!
Re: sick_girl – Re: lala – Dan Savage is "bullying" Mario Lopez for criticizing him for eating at a place that gives money to anti-gay groups? You don't know what bullying is. You have obviously never been bullied.
By the logic of many of the people posting here, Mario Lopez was bullying Chik-fil-a by complaining they weren't open on Sunday.
Re: Daniel – You can ask all you want, but people should still be allowed to eat there without a million labels put upon them. There's a difference between asking and harassing every person that steps into a Chick-Fil-A.
Re: Buster – Who the hell hasn't been bullied at one point in their life? But you're right bullying isn't the right word. Acting like an asshole is more like it. People against gay rights can act hateful but so can gays. It seems immature to continue the name calling against each other. Both sides want respect but nobody gives it.
What a joke
LGBT always out screaming and parading about injustice, while they are the ones who want to persecute a man for his religious beliefs
I guess anyone can say what they want…unless they disagree with with anyone who has a gay agenda. I don't agree with the gay lifestyle and I think that gay marriage is wrong. Just because I disagree with the gay population doesn't make me a bad person. Nor does a person who is trying to force the gay agenda down my throat need to be considered a rotten person. We are all good folks who may be just a little irritating to those who think they are right. I do know that God loves all his children and we should learn to get along! I love chick filet. is that wrong? if you think that's wrong you really need to get a life!
why cant they believe it what they want???? who r they hurting??? I dont care who people marry, its their choice….JUST like its chick-fil-a's choice on what they believe. NOT EVERYONE HAS TO AGREE WITH THAT shit people its f%$king CHICKEN>>>>very good chicken actually
Re: Thebigboot – You can have your bigoted opinion. That's fine. It's your right. But it's everyone elses right to call you out as a bigot. Free speech runs both ways, asshole.
I guess if it's ok to tweet you love Chris Brown's music even though he's a violent abuser then it's ok to tweet you like Chic Fil A even though they aren't pro gay rights.
Gays are the biggest bullies on the planet. They deserve to be hated and beaten up.
When is this closet case gonna come out already? He has the biggest case of gay face next to Zac Efron I have ever seen.
Re: Lady Who? –
Then you deserve to be bent over by them and have your ass raped
Re: raypearson –
Uh, if you're going to go off on some rant about expression and freedom of speech…learn how to spell first, mother fucker.
I have many gay friends and will happily be attending the wedding of two of them in a couple months. What I do have a problem with, are the voices that publicly represent the gay community. They're becoming bullies and it's becoming more and more distasteful. If I supported a company or product based solely on the person opinions of their chairmen or CEO or founders or owners, I'd be a fool.
Bullying needs to stop period. However I have to say that many gays are very clickish and stand-offish and some ignore others put them second class if they are not also gay. See it all the time. As well as this blogger, also a bully.
Re: Tee – Yeah, how dare they whine just because they don't have equal rights and there's a company that gives money to groups that want to take away even more of their rights–and donate money to groups in Africa that want to put them to death! What whiners.
Re: flergasfsdfasdf – Wow, using this to justify violence. What a great Christian and American you are.
Re: Prince Charming – He couldn't eat where he wanted to because it was closed. Neither Dan Savage or Perez Hilton stopped him from eating a Chik-fil-a.
Re: flwergal – How sad for you. Gay people's wanting equal rights interferes with your eating fast food without guilt. So sad that other people's rights mean so much inconvenience for you.
Re: Lady Who? – Wow, gay people bullying you into having to think about where you eat. Yeah, that justifies violence. Please don't have children.
Re: sick_girl – No one has stopped anyone from eating at Chik-fil-a. You can eat there if you want. It's between you and your conscience. Assuming you have one.
Re: sick_girl – If acting like an asshole were a crime you'd be in jail so don't go there. No one has stopped you or Mario Lopez from saying anything, no one has stopped you from stuffing your face with Chik-fil-a. If you feel guilty about it, don't blame gay people, blame the people at Chik-fil-a for donating to groups that want to deny gays their rights and put them to death in Africa. You don't want to think about other people's rights? Don't. No one is forcing you.
Re: notorious420 – And I'm sure a lot of gay men are glad you're not one of those gay men too.
Dan Savage: another whiny baby!! FREEDOM OF SPEECH…….Do celebs realize how dumb they sound sometimes???
Re: Prince Charming – I know a lot of straight people who are cliquish and standoffish. Should we contribute to groups who want to make heterosexuality illegal?
Re: spike13 – Wait, where were you stopped from saying anything? Do you have this weird idea that you should be able to say whatever you want and everyone else has to shut up? I see, you want freedom of speech for yourself–but no one else should have it. Especially if they disagree with you.
Re: mdd – Who's stopping them from believing what they want? Gay people object to them donating money to anti-gay groups–including groups in Africa that want to put people to death. They're not being protested because of their beliefs, they're being protested because of their actions.
Re: cap chick – So, Mario Lopez should have freedom of speech but Dan Savage shouldn't?
Re: Frank Black – This is not based solely on the opinions of the owners. This is based on the fact that they donate money to groups that want to prevent these gay friends of yours from marrying. These groups they donate to also want to pass laws in Africa that will put gays to death. I know it might not seem like much to you because you're not personally effected (except maybe that you can't eat at the wedding buffets quite yet) but it does effect these gay people you claim are your friends.
Re: Prince Charming – Maybe the reason these gay people don't associate with you is that they are used to straight people putting them down and calling them names.
Let him eat what he wants to eat. There is nothing wrong with it. Just because Chick-Fil-A doesn't support gay marriage doesn't mean no one should eat it.
Re: ICYNDICEY – couldn't have said it better!
Re: Jeff – Who stopped him from eating at Chik-fil-a? The only reason he couldn't eat at Chik-fil-a was that it was Sunday. Where did anyone stop him?
So funny. So many of the people posting here act like they've been asked to carry water across the Sahara. It's not an inconvenience for me not to eat at Chik-fil-a. Yes, the sandwiches are good, but I would rather honor my friends and family members who are gay. And for those of you who would choose a chicken sandwich over gay people's rights–no one is stopping you. It's not a free speech issue either. People have said what they meant to say and if they got criticism–that's free speech too.
I do wonder about how clueless Lopez is though. Who does he think is going to buy his underwear line? His most loyal fans are gay men. Straight men don't care about him and straight women aren't going to buy that many pairs of men's underwear.
Re: Jeff – By the way, it's about more than not supporting gay marriage. Chik-fil-a donates money to groups that seek to deny gay people equal rights and remove rights they already have. They also donate to groups in Africa that are trying to pass laws that would have gays killed or imprisoned. Maybe that's not important to you but it is to me.
I don't think this has anything to do with LGBT people.
I think Mario just wanted some chicken on a Sunday.
Mario could never pss me off maybe piss on me but never piss me off.
Just another way for gays to get attention because in all reality no one cares about you or the rights you want,be happy with what you have and keep your personal lives to your fucking selves, its behavior like this and all the controversy gays start that make people not like them.
All this hysteria is so stupid. Mr. Cathay and Mt. Lopez never maligned anyone. Mr. Cathay just gave his honest opinion and Mr.bLopez said he likes their. Get over yourself folks. It's gotto the ppoint a person can't say anything about anything.
AS an american I'd like to express my freedom of religion by saying I enjoy Chick-fil-A's food and their business enterprise. They service somewhat healthy fast food that people enjoy and pay for, earning them millions of money and deciding where they should put those millions of money. You and I have no business to really care because once you hand your money to the cashier, its no longer your money and no longer your problem. I'd also like to express my personal opinion that I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. I did not say i dont like gays, i did not say gays should not be married, i did not spew mean names and crude language in an outrageous bullying rant. It's just an opinion i like to post every now and then on perez's blog because i don't say at all in person and get these notions to feel heard once in a while and i also i like spam. Granted my freedom of expressing will warrant some unwanted ranting and raving from the other side saying "oh your homophobic" and "oh your bully" "ewww and ehhhh," so i'm telling now you might as well express your opinion in the audio version to your computer screen because im not gonna see and i'm sooooo not gonna care. have a nice day y'all!!!
Homosexuals can spew their hate all they want. The lines outside of Chik-Fil-A say it all. Go get you some Mario. I know I am.
I used to lean towards homosexual rights. Thought they were like everyone else. But the hate and bullying by gays has turned me off. I now realize they are full of sh-t.
Geez…..he was being ironic…..no wonder equal rights are taking so long….
Dan Savage needs to shut the fuck up and go choke on a dick!
He probably wasnt thinking, but this probably wouldnt have happened had he just used the word chicken instead lol.
Re: Vito Mezzapelle – Great, I don't care about your rights either. I hope you are sent to a concentration camp.
Re: gossipgirl180 – He'd need to knock them all out of your mouth to get to them, you slag.
Re: Bill – Lines of bigots. That's a crowd I'm sure you're happy to get in.
