Perez Reviews: Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?

| Filed under: Broadway BabiesPerez Reviews

We have had the displeasure of seeing some bad plays lately, so it was a real treat to see something solid and truly enjoyable on Friday night!

We caught the new Broadway revival of Edward Albee's Whose Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? and were so pleasantly surprised!

We went in with an open mind and no expectations. We had never seen the play before, nor had we seen the iconic movie starring Elizabeth Taylor.

This production featured no big names - just great stage actors doing what they do best.

But the real star of this show is Albee and his writing. Simply splendid!

Though Virginia Woolf was written a long time ago, it still feels SHARP. And, surprising to us, extremely funny!

These characters he created were so fascinating - and cruel!

In many ways, this felt like a smarter War Of The Roses, one of our favorite films.

Loved it!!!

lol, OMG. You have ZERO writing skills. It was like you wrote a postcard to Mommy.

I am very afraif. Let's see; Virginia Woolf or War of the Roses? Take a literature course or keep your reviews to yourself.

You should really delete this whole "review". It's embarrassing. It's obvious that you have no knowledge of classic films, plays or literature. Stay home and read some good books.

We have had the displeasure of reading some badly written reviews lately, so it was a real treat to see something so poorly written and unenjoyable, that it makes them look Pulitzer worthy by comparison. My God, you can't even transcribe the title correctly.

I'm too "afraif" to read this article.

I feel as though everyone is looking over the fact that there is a Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and member of Steppenwolf Theater Company in the cast (playing the lead of George). Sorry Perez, but you can't just skim over Tracy Letts like that, August: Osage County might come up and slap you in the face. Not to mention his play Killer Joe was just made into a movie and released with a killer cast of Matthew McConaughey and Emile Hirsch. Next time, maybe do some research on what you're watching before you give a review or announcement about it.

There's a reason they dont have tourists with no background in the theatre review Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. You just provided a good example as to why.
