Lena Dunham Thinks Your First Time (Voting) Should Be With Barack Obama

Barack Obama inspired many Americans to become first-time voters in 2008 and he wants to do it again in 2012, so he enlisted in the help of Lena Dunham.

In a cute new campaign ad (above), the Girls creator begins to talk about voting as if it's like losing your virginity and says:

"Your first time shouldn't be with just anybody. You want to do it with a great guy … Someone who really cares about and understands women."

She proceeds to launch into a tirade of reasons why the President is a better candidate than Mitt Romney by citing his policies on health insurance, birth control, ending the Iraq war and gay marriage.

Her first time voting was for Obama in 2008 and she calls the experience "amazing" because she went into the polling booth "a girl" and came out "a woman."

Unfortunately, this metaphor may have been too risqué for the conservative crowd (people have sex?! AHHHH!!!!) and maybe even voters sitting pretty in the middle of the political spectrum. The YouTube video has garnered a majority of "dislikes" and enraged right wing pundits.

And by enraged, we mean they're pretending to be offended because they see an opportunity to pounce on the President.

" … because she went into the polling booth 'a girl' and came out 'a woman.' " If voting made her feel like a woman, then she has an empty life. Dunham is an idiot; it's too bad she didn't come out of that booth with a brain. Stupid twat.

I think that the celebrity vote is not realistic. They have good paying jobs, therefore are not worried about the economy simply because it does not effect them like the economy has effected the majority of the population. Their vote is skewed and the basis of their vote is solely on the social issues (i.e. gay rights and abortion). Our country needs the people of authority and public figures to concentrate on the more important issues; getting our country back in order. Once that is fixed and more jobs are created, we can concentrate on social issues and war.

What a mother fucking IDIOT! Hopefully, when she grows up and matures, she'll be horribly ashamed of this worthless video stint.

Ahh silly liberal NY feminists..they think they are taking affirmative action..It's adorable. They think its empowering to refer to women as vaginas. Funny they complain about objectification whilst at the same time referring to women as vaginas and uteri.

Has anyone seen her tv show? It is about as interesting as this ad. Any woman should be offended by this ad. Voting is not like your first time. It is a privilege that people have fought many battles for. I feel like everything is getting cheapened in this election cycle. She does this and Obama calls Romney a bulls*&$%^. Where is their respect for this country and what it stands for?

This is a sign of a very desperate campaign - all women of all ages should be saddened by this commerical….

you know after watching the video where Justin Timberlake's friends took advantage of the homeless and knowing that he pd over 6 million for his wedding. I have had it with celebs and their false concern about which president is going to do more for this county. We don't need presidents to make a difference. We need wealthy americans to start pitching in and not donating to a cause but get out on the streets and make lives better for those that they can see. If celebs can find the poor and use them as jokes than they can find the poor and help them out. Many struggling single moms live in dangerous communities or raise thier kids in slums. Kim Kardashian and Justin Timberlake alone can take care of a whole lot of families with their incomes thanks to us. What would a 50 thousand dollar birkin bag that sits on the shelf of kim's closet do for her when she could have used the money to make a difference. Hey Celebs stop pushing your politics and then ignoring the needy. You all can't leave it up to Brad and Angelina.

Cute…um, there is nothing cute about this woman.

Lena D. said I should vote for Barack Obama and I listen to all the celebs because they are wise and knowledgeable about all things American and foreign policy. Celebs make good and wise decisions and should be respected as responsible outstanding citizens. Therefore, I'm voting for Barack Obama………………………….NOT!

This is not surprising from a girl whose idea of "empowered" young women (according to her show) are girls who throw abortion parties for their friend at the clinic, lamenting about how rude it is not to show up for your own abortion because you were out banging some othe dude. The only virgin on the show isn't one by choice and is humiliated when herfriends find out the truth, at which point they all ridicule her for not having as much slutty, degrading, emotionless sex as they have. Oh yes, very empowering for women to be told they can't possibly raise a baby on their own, or that attachment free sex with men who can barely hide their disdain for you is unsatisfying. Oh, but the dialogue is what passes for clever nowadays so they must be smart, right? Wrong. Not all young women are as vapid, selfish and insipid as this show makes us out to be.

One thing is rigt on the money about this ad. Vote for Obama again and don't be surprised if you come out of that booth feeling like you just got f*cked.

It's appropriate that she's comparing voting for Obama to losing your virginity, because in both situations you end up getting fucked.

The shocking part is that the Obama campaign takes its cue from BFF Vladimir Putin. Putin ran a very similar ad to win re-election earlier this year. "I'll have more flexibility after the election" comment comes to mind as well. (for those who are not in the know, Obama said this to Medvedev in March of this year.) Link below of Putin's campaign video that Obama's campaign used for inspiration….

IS THIS A JOKE?!? A REASON TO POUNCE ON THE PRESIDENT?? WE HAVE PLENTY OF REASONA TO "POUNCE" ON THE PRESIDENT. ALL I SEE ON YOUR WEBSITE IS OBAMA THIS OBAMA IS GREAT. HOW ABOUT SOME ROMNEY ARTICLES. OBAMA HAS DONE NOTHING FOR OUR COUNTRY IF YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO THE YEARS WHERE WE HAD A GREAT DEPRESSION AND PEOPLE WERE OUT OF JOBS JUST LIKE THEY ARE NOW KEEP THE PRESIDENT IN OFFICE. IF YOU WANT A BUSINESSMAN WHO KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT VOTE ROMNEY!!

Well, as a 26 year old female with two little boys, I can tell you I was actually pretty freaked out by this commercial. Mostly because it seems like the Obama campaign just sees us as vaginas, and he's trying to target us with ads like this. Um…gross. Voting isn't sexual. I sure as he** don't want to think of my president in a sexual way, and I DEFINITELY don't want to be thought of in that way by him. This was simply creepy. Way missing the mark. I'm not just a vagina, and I'm also not voting for Obama, that's for sure.

  20. 20

This is sick and has no place in our national political dialogue…and she actually made me question my planned vote for Obama…I don't like innuendo in the context of a presidential election.

Totally cute vid and clever comparison. I'll be leaving the polling place with a big ol' grin cause I'll definitely be getting fucked by Obama! And to all the candyass women who'd rather sit at home, popping out babies into an overpopulated world, ironing discount shirts and rubbing their lardass hubby's feet while he reads to them from the Bible about how their bodies are a sin, go ahead and waste your vote on Mitt (that is, if said hubby allows you to vote…). I'll be living it up with the rest of the competent, visionary progressives enjoying my FREEDOM :)

yes obama a real women's advocate…that is why he is throwing hilary under the bus over the Libya incident…what is wrong with these pro obama liberal feminists? Oh yes, women have no rights in the United States. Get real…so pathetic

It is a cute, suggestive ad. But Mitt Romney is ahead in the latest Gallup poll, because his theme has been consistent and simple: States’ Rights. He has defined the election as a battle between States Rights and Big Federal Government. And he means it. That plays well for him in the individual Swing States. As a Mormon, Romney idolizes States’ Rights.
To gain an existential understanding of the cult that produced Mitt Romney, and to get your socks scared off, read The Assassination of Spiro Agnew, available in paperback and e-book on Amazon

Its unwilling, part-Mexican Mormon assassin dramatizes the Mormon superiority complex, manifesting it as racism, sexism, jingoism and an anti-federal government temperament. His research in the new library reveals ominous similarities between Islam and Mormonism. The spiritual power behind the cult, which is not the Holy Ghost, acts out.

“With a clarity of language and vision unsurpassed in contemporary American prose, Steven Janiszewski’s Assassination of Spiro Agnew takes us into a U.S. mazed with madness and Mormonism and all things Utah, a U.S. that was then and still is. Readers, welcome to a masterpiece.”
    Tom Whalen

WOW i am so tired of people trying to tell me to vote w/ my uterus it's extremely offensive. Obama does not care about "women's rights" what has changed? i still am sexually harassed in professional environments. that is the REAL ISSUE (along w/ rape). which i never see addressed! recently i decided it was ok for a male masseuse to work on my back.. that was a BAD IDEA i am appalled and too scared to speak up bc he scares me. Ill just have to take more measures to insure i can keep myself safe and that is just how women have to live ATM. I dont have a problem paying for birth control (i pay for all my other medication so why is BC different??) and have educated myself on how to take it so i am safe and never been pregnant. the government wants to victimize us, and NOT educate women. THAT is what these feminists need to do is EDUCATE each other one how to take birthcontrol and what kinds there or and payment options so we can lower abortion by A LOT! i mean this is ridiculous! and i am voting for the good of the country as a WHOLE and not for my "uterus"
