New Star Wars Films Confirmed! The Saga Continues In 2015…

| Filed under: Film FlickersDisneyBusiness Blitz

Mickey Mouse Star Wars

When we heard Disney was buying LucasFilm Ltd., we thought there was a good chance we might see a brand new Star Wars trilogy!

We were wrong.

A trilogy is only 3 movies, and the Mouse has no plans of stopping there!

Disney has confirmed they are indeed planning on making Star Wars Episode VII, set for release in 2015!

But their long term goal is to release a brand new feature every 2-3 years from then on, continuing the Star Wars franchise FOREVER!!!

Makes sense to us! They have to recoup that $4 billion price tag somehow!

    Re: Ed*
The story hasn't ended, maybe you should go to a book store and see all the books with other story lines that don't include Luke

I have mixed feelings about this. Since George Lucas ruined the franchise with the last 3 utterly craptastic installments, I'm thinking fans would embrace any new movie to get the bad taste out of their mouths. On the other hand, if Disney isn't going to put their best foot forward, then this will just add insult to injury. I wonder what Star Wars would look like if Pixar took a swing at it?

Star Wars isn't about Luke, and the books are part of the expanded universe… something that George Lucas doesn't create. This WILL ruin Star Wars.

Re: isolde – It already was.

Star Wars ended in 1983 for me.

Re: dreamboat – eah, All I see Disney doing is continuing with the style of the prequels and everything that came with and after those, The Clone Wars, Expanded Universe, etc.

Star Wars is a Trilogy from the 70's and 80's. The only thing "Star Wars" that interests me these days are collectibles. Nothing will ever capture the spirit of those original 3 films, especially not Disney.

I love all Star Wars. The last ones were fine. All by George Lucas. So many people complain how theyre so unlike the original, well ya that happens as technology gets better duh. He put his work into it. IDK how to feel about this tho.

Loved the first two Star Wars films, third was OK, did not see the rest.
Used to work with a guy who knew someone and got copies of the scripts, but I never bothered to take him up on his offer, because I did not want to spoil the surprise.

    Fuck me. I'm done.

No, wait. Disney will absorb all of the technical capabilities and techniques of LucasFilm Ltd., so Disney will or should improve considerably in the sci-fi arena. Go Disney.
