Michelle William And Jason Segel's New Brooklyn Love Nest DEVASTATED By Hurricane Sandy!

Oh NO!

And after they had just gotten settled!

We reported only a few weeks ago that Michelle Williams and Jason Segel finally took a huge step in their relationship by moving into a loft apartment in Red Hook, Brooklyn, renovated from a 19th century coffee warehouse with a view of the Manhattan skyline!

Sadly, however, their new home was no exception to the devastating wrath of Hurricane Sandy, as the building is located right on the waterfront, and the couple - along with Michelle's daughter Matilda - were forced to evacuate as the surrounding area was completely flooded in the storm…which has resulted in long-lasting damage!

Reports reveal that their apartment is situated above a Fairway supermarket, which was not only destroyed by the flood waters, but with the lack of power, left its food products rotting, as you can see (above)!

As Tony Karon wrote for Time Magazine:

"The store’s pier-side location offers an exquisite view and fresh ocean breeze on a Sunday afternoon, but it also put it directly in the path of what must have been a 15-foot wave cresting the 8-foot breakwater. A stench of meat beginning to rot hung over the muddied rear entrance, and refrigeration trucks were loaded.

The floodwaters had receded from most streets, but one end of the main business strip, near the giant Fairway grocery store, was still submerged. The cobblestones on the side streets were slick with goo, left behind by retreating waters. Wooden pallets, potted plants and giant wooden beams were left in yards and in the middle of streets, carried by the flowing water and then dropped when the water retreated. The sandbags that some homes and businesses had placed around basements and in front of doors were no more effective than a pebble in stopping the water from rushing in. Enormous trees were uprooted. Cars that had begun to float last night were left abandoned in intersections. Power lines were down everywhere, but did not pose an immediate threat: the power was out and is likely to remain so for days to come."

Thankfully, according to the actress' close friend Busy Phillips, Michelle, Matilda, and Jason are all safe and sound, and their apartment seemed to be high enough up to not sustain too much damage!

She explains:

"I talked to her today and they were spared. Everything is fine. Everyone is safe. Everything's OK."

What a relief! Obviously, their health and safety is all that matters in the end!

Just heartbreaking to hear that such an up-and-coming area was left all but destroyed!

Our hearts go out to everyone in this neighborhood affected by Hurricane Sandy, and urge everyone out there to contribute to the relief efforts provided by the American Red Cross!

Yes, it is a shame that some rich people were inconvenienced, but how about we save our sympathy for those who lost everything and can't afford to start again, and have no where to go?

  2. 2

These rich fucks whining about their "oh so horrible troubles" make me want to puke.
