Wow! Not only did this election result in the approval of same-sex marriage in three more states and an openly gay senator, but Arizona MIGHT have elected the first openly bisexual woman to Congress!
Kyrsten Sinema is currently leading her Republican opponent for the state's Ninth Congressional District by 2,100 votes, according to her campaign. The race was too close to be called last night and with up to 400,000 provisional votes left to be counted, we won't find out who the winner is for days!
Either way, Sinema is "optimistic" and willing to "wait for EVERY vote to be counted."
And we hope those votes get counted in her favor.
Forget the fact that she's bi, she's incredibly qualified! She served in the Arizona House of Representatives for years before becoming a member of the State Senate and has made it clear that her interests lie with the people she represents, not her own agenda.
Good luck, gurl!
