Carly Rae Jepsen SUED For Stealing Call Me Maybe From Ukrainian Singer

Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe was the biggest hit of the summer, but did she steal it from a Ukrainian singer named Aza?

According to our ears, no. However, this busty blonde must be hearing something different because she says the hit single is a complete rip off of her song, Hunky Santa (above).

She's filing a lawsuit against Jepsen and manager Scooter Braun today. It seems that Aza's not concerned with them lifting the tune, so much as stealing her lyrics and explained:

"I'm shocked and surprised that these people wanted to sample my lyrics on their song. They didn't ask me for permission, they just took it. That's why I filed this lawsuit. When I first heard it on the radio, I was driving and almost got into an accident. I couldn't believe what I was hearing."

After listening to the song, the only similar lyrics we could find was "call me and here is my number."

The rest go a little something like this:

I like sexy, silky lingerie.
I like big and sparkly diamonds.
I like lots and lots of compliments.
And chocolate covered almonds.

Anyone wanna take any guesses as to how fast it takes for a judge to throw this out of court?

    Not similar at all, imo, and listened closely to both. Hope they stick this middle aged lousy voiced wriggler for the legal fees.

    This is so ridiculous. If Carly hadn't gotten the success she got with that song this lawsuit would have never happened. Also I doubt any of the writers of Call Me Maybe even heard this horrible song and I doubt they would want to "sample" from it.

    Ukrainians are very joyful people and if you want to meet some local people ant talk to them, tourist should go to a bar. This is my directory of good Ukrainian bars but if you know other good places where tourist can spend free time, feel free to add this bars to this directory.

    Crappy song. I don't feel sorry for it because it's Christmas themed…
    OKAY, so at 0:34-0:37, I only see it as a similiar reference to Jepsen's Call Me Maybe song, mind the 'here's my number parts was used ONCE. Then the rest of the song goes from sounding like some guy is jacking off to her while she talk-sings and unwraps gifts. I don't speak Ukraine, so I seriously don't see a similarity to prove that Carly Rae Jepsen's had stolen music from her, let alone proving that Aza can sing better to certain principles here.
