Demi Lovato To Simon Cowell: One Direction Was A 'Bad Move!' Watch Their X Factor Spat HERE!

| Filed under: TV NewsMusic MinuteBritney SpearsSimon CowellDemi LovatoX FactorOne DirectionReality TV

Last night’s episode of X Factor featured the top 12… er, 13 finalists taking on songs from the movies!

In Melanie Amaro season one-esque fashion, judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid realized they made a “terrible mistake” in letting 13-year-old Diamond White go last week… and brought her back!

However, even though the teen gave it her all with some Whitney Houston, it was the boys from Huntington Beach who delivered yet another solid performance!

Check out Emblem3’s My Girl/California Gurls/What Makes You Beautiful mash-up (above)!!!

The Beach Boys Bros have done it again!

Even though Demi has a mega-crush on all three guys, she and Simon definitely got into it over One Direction! Bad move or smart strategy?? Hmm!

Wonder if we’ll feel any of that tension tonight when 1D takes the stage for the results show!

I cringe when I think of those 13 year old on this show. Those kids are talented - they should be protected, not exploited. What are their parents thinking exposing them to this extreme level of pressure? If they really want their kids to succeed, they should make them finish school before leaping into a career.

I like these guys there a bit of douche bags personality wise but they are pretty talented. They performances are always solid. The two brothers are alright but the blond has a bit of an eagle yeah we get it you are cute now get over yourself and focus on the group.

When I first heard the intro I did think that E3 was going to bust out "What makes you beautiful," but then realized it was not the case. I don't agree with Demi at all. It was a smart move on Cowell's part, seeing how 1D is on tonights' show. What does it really matter to her anyway? Simon is light years ahead of her for recognizing talent and has been since his AI days. By the way, how much foundation was spackled on Demi's face!?! Her skin is flawless but holy crap, she was all but sheetrocked, taped and mudded.

I completely agree with Demi. Simon is shameless when it comes to One Direction. He needs to focus on the groups he has in this competition, not a group of guys that don't really need him anymore. Emblem3 is NOT One Direction. I really hope they start incorporating their own instruments soon. I'd hate for them to be stuck in that "boyband" persona.

I don't know how I feel about X Factor this year. The 4 judges are good, but did they really need 2 hosts? I also feel as though the "talent" on the show is not very good. Am I the only one who is not blown away by any of the singers? Too many gimmicks. I think it's more about good TV than great talent at this point.

It was smart strategy and I have no idea why Demi behaved so arrogant and disrespectful in this episode. Additionally, the viewers are neither stupid not deaf. If Simon says something, Demi can't just claim he said the opposite.

A bad move was Demi's rendition of the Star Spangled Banner…….not good.

I love Demi, but I don't agree with her on this. First off the did such an unexpected thing with the songs, that most probably forgot the beginning and the brief moment we thought they were singing 1D. So why bring it back up? Plus 1D is MEGA famous right now, so will it really hurt for someone to think of them when hearing your name? Demi didn't think twice about making that one girl look EXACTLY like her, what is the difference?
I think Demi and Simon need to calm the arguing down, I get they have different opinions, but Demi won't even let Simon talk if he disagrees with her, and that is rude. Remember this is coming from someone who has liked Demi for a while now.

Re: rosebud99 – I agree with this to a point. I do believe this show is too much for them, especially after you hear their back stories and the pressure they have put on themselves for supporting their families. I am not dissing the families that are struggling, but little kids shouldn't have to worry about that, especially in this type of competition. Because if something happens and they get eliminated then they are going to blame themselves.

I love X-Factor; however, I feel that this season the judges are stripping away what we loved about the contestants in the audition rounds. My favourite is Jennel Garcia but she is almost un-recognizable and her individual performance style has been removed. There is also too much background singing/props/distractions. Sometimes it is very hard to even hear the contestants voice. On another note, who is the stylist for Britney and Demi? Ninety percent of the time they look atrocious. Last night Demi looked like a mannequin with a bad soccer Mom haircut and granny outfit. Demi in particular seems to look worse and worse as the show goes on. I've seen footage of her performing in concert and she looks so much better than she does on this show.

Demi has an excellent point…clever girl continues to surprise me. Simon's schilling, while she has the foresight to see that they deserve their own unique identity with how very, very good they are and are going to be. She's got ya on this one, Simon. The guys are fresh, young, energetic, enthusiastic and above all else, innately skilled and ready to go.

I dont agree with Demi at all!!! My 14 year old daughter was watching it with me and completly freaked out when she heard 1D in the background! Her favourite now for X factor is E3 so good move simon!

I agree!! I thought from the beginning that e3 are good, but very cliché. There's so many boy groups they remind me of!!! Lyric 145 is a group that is needed in the market right now. I really hope they make it! They're amazing!!

I'm with Demi on this one, because the "Tribute" makes it hard to hear their unique sound. At this point it just seems like there isn't any 'new ideas', no creativity for new groups. Makes them sound so factory, so XFactor-y assembled. What so wrong with letting a group be different? Are they that scared that nothing else will work? are the "charts and graphs of marketing oppressing all creativity? We need NEW sounds!
