It seems like TLC's T-Boz is none too happy about the modern musical environment, but girl is especially pissed off that Nicki Minaj is determining the talent of aspiring singers via her gig as an American Idol judge!
The 1990's girly-group member recently let loose in an interview and did NOT mince words when talking about the excess of non-talent in today's music industry… and goodness her accusations are SALACIOUS!
"Just because you’re on TV gyrating and boning and sucking penises, it’s not talent, honey. Maybe in the porn industry, but over here, we entertain. I don’t respect half [of] the people I’ve seen lately."
In response to a question specifically about Nicki Minaj & American Idol: "How the hell is she gon’ tell me what I should be doing when her a– can’t even sing? Why is she there? Now they’ve got rappers that don’t even sing judging. So, this is totally based off of popularity I guess. I mean, to each their own. Get your money, honey. All I’m saying is, I will never watch [your] shows again."

A lot of people work really hard on perfecting their singing skills and as you should know Perez, it is a CRAFT and it isn't easy. Let the singing experts be the judges - They're the ones who deserve it. Nikki sure isn't an expert on singing. I don't think a single person admires her "singing". She's completely out of place of the show. It would make more sense if this were a show about rappers instead of a wide array of acts.

I have to agree with t-boz!! Lately nicki's music has not been great. I started out listening to her but found myself changing the station when she comes on. It's like she's trying to make new words that make no sense. Where has all the good artist gone?!?!
She is right about Nicki's gyrating and non-singing, but her reasoning for Idol is flawed. A person does not have to be a good singer to judge singing. Most producers don't sing. But you do need experience, technical knowledge, and the ability to communicate - sadly, I don't think Nicki has any of that either. Clearly she is there for ratings and that's all.
