See! Results shows don’t always have to be sad and super tense!

One Direction hit the stage last night on X Factor US for the very FIRST time and treated everyone to not one, but two performances!

1D kicked off the show and got the party started with Live While We’re Young and looked like the had a blast!

The boys then slowed it down and got serious, with their recently released ballad, Little Things!

Hear their stripped down vocals and watch them melt millions of Directioners’ hearts… AFTER THE JUMP!!!

I absolutely love the song Little Things and One Direction does a great job with it, but I love it because it's so obviously Ed's writing and find myself wishing he was the one singing it.

he hit the jackpot hoaring out these boys to the media now ronan is trying to follow suite with ' the collective ' off x factor aus now all they need is a girl band and its back to 80s glory i bet they wonder why they didnt think of it before …

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
