Her label isn't really promoting her!

I got it yesterday and I actually really like it. But I do agree that it wasn't promoted as well as it should have been. RIhanna has been everywhere promoting her album, but Christina was on Chelsea Lately and the late night shows.

Doing the Voice was a mistake. It puts her in the has been category and paired with amateur vocalist. You are the company you keep.

Her record label (if she still has one after this) needs to step in and take away all of her creative control. She screwed herself over in the beginning by trying too hard to be different. People like Britney and Madonna have become who they have become, because they can manage to evolve as performers, yet maintain their fan base, and deliver albums that are recognizably Britney and Madonna signatures. Christina tried to go off in other directions, and be "the voice of our generation" and now she is trying desperately to come back and do what Britney established from the beginning. Long story short, she's lost, her music sounds lost, and she needs to figure herself out before putting another album out.

What i can't believe her album isnt selling well even with all the "time" she put into promoting it?? Oh wait thats right she didnt even do ONE talk show to promot her stupid album, maybe Xtina should take a page out of the Taylor Swift book, when Taylor promoted RED there wasn't a talk show she DIDN't do, could that be why she sold 1.2 million copies in the first week ALONE hmmm its such a head scrachter

Truth be told I <3 XTina! Back in the early 2000s when I was a teen she was the sh!t. That said I feel like she has lost her target audience. Hope she finds her way b/c she has talent!

Honestly, I don't find Christina very likeable. I won't deny she has an incredible voice, but her music is not innovative, it's the same crap as everyone else is pumping out. Plus, yeah, she did put herself out there as a skinny sex kitten and well, she's not skinny anymore and the public doesn't like it.

The woman has a god given voice but she shouldn't take it personally I mean the best selling music 80% of the time really sucks. Gangham Style, really? Plus at this point she doesn't need the money nor the fame. Everyone knows who she is, her voice alone is legendary.

I think it's not doing well because she lost her "thing." None of the others could do ballads or soulful music like Christina could. Now she's trying to be this super-skinny-poppy-dance performer that she IS NOT. She needs to try and get back to the days of "Beautiful" and realize that's where her talents are. There's NO WAY any of these new acts could do Beautiful like Xtina did it.

She's not relatable and comes across as too much of a diva. She seems smug and buys too much into her own hype. Christina has an amazing voice and is a great songwriter but, like Mariah Carey, she has created this persona that is "better" than everyone else. Britney may not be as talented but she still has the girl next door appeal and you want to root for her. Christina needs to become more real and loose all the pretense…

It's because Xtina's star has faded. Everyone knows who the real star of that show is. Maybe if she wasn't so overeXposed, she would fair better with people. People are over her Diva antics. They want someone relatable which is why Blake and Adam are sticking around for season 4 and not ceelo and Xtina. don't need spray ran or animal mascots to win over viewers.

Poor promotion, and she chose a bad date to release the album considering "the weeknd" released his the same day.

Fuck sales and fuck radio play! LOL seriously…..not all pop stars have to sell 10 million albums. It's about the music and the fans. I loved Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" album. So many people said it wasn't commercial enough, who cares!? Her best song's off it were Scheibe, Government Hooker, Bloody Mary…..song's that would never be singles. I'm tired of hearing Rihanna and Katy Perry on the radio…….This is why I listen to other pop acts like Robyn, Goldfrapp, Peaches, Annie, Lana Del Rey, Dragonette……who have huge loyal fan bases but arn't all over, all the time……

but lets face it. sales dont mean a damn thing anymore. these days it seems the more repetitive/crappy the song, the better it will sell. if i was Christina, i would honestly take the low sales as a compliment. has long as her fans like it, then thats all that matters.

Well, I don't think it was promoted that well and also because I saw on one link that she had 110,000 downloads of her album. A lot of people get stuff for free. My friend burned me a copy of her cd but I might buy one to help her sales anyways but I think it's one of those records that needs to catch on and gradually the sales will start to go up. I don't know but this is a million times better than Bionic. That was atrocious.

This album is clearly not her best work. Personally I like Bionic very much. I feel like, Christina gave in to what is popular, rather than staying true to herself. Which is unfortunate. For me, Bionic was a great move for Christina, and I agree that it was before it's time. Lotus… just missed the mark for me. I'm a die-hard X-Tina fan, but Lotus isn't doing it for me.

it doesn't seem she's using her talents to their potential. also, i think she should go for a more mature sound/image while still keeping it pop, fun, and sexy
ALSO, i think her music reflects the current time and trends more than her own style, but i'm sure she'd beg to differ. a talent like hers is not meant to be entirely trendy. i feel she could make a much greater impact in the music world than she is currently.

I used to love Christina back in her "Stripped" days. It's still in my top 10 favorite CDs. Now? I agree with what pretty much everyone has said. She comes across as a diva when she hasn't earned it.

As for her weight, on the one-hand i like that she looks like a normal woman (she's a mother, 31, and was HIGHLY pressured to remain thin as a young woman) but that "normal woman" look clashes completely with her over-the-top makeup and unflattering wardrobe. She needs to pick a look and go with it. She DESPERATELY needs a new stylist because whoever decided what she wears needs to be drawn and quartered. Because right now she looks like a daytime truckstop stripper. She's a beautiful girl. All the extras detracts from that.

As for her music, It's just kind of boring. she's not really edgy, or sexy, or unique. She has a stellar voice of course. But a great voice does not a star make.

Her hair, her makeup, her personality on screen….fake fake fake FAKE. Come on Christina we know you are likeable, you have to strip that shit down and show your true self again.

That's so normal, that's reality, there's the magic moment and then it's gone, her magic moment has come and gone, just take a look at other artists like Cyndi Lauper and it's the same thing, some people most of the times in their career only have one great album. To me when they get married and have kids the magic seems to vanish. Lets see if maybe Beyonce can prove me wrong but I doubt it.

oh god, i love christina aguilera. so so much, she's the best vocalist of my generation. People in their early to mid 20's don't really buy cd's, that's the audience that she appeals to. Young people keep the music industry alive and they aren't into her, at all. I feel like Bionic was an amazing album, really really good- she just got lost in lady gaga's prolific persona. Christina is always herself. Lotus feels a GREAT deal like Stripped, down to some of the actual phrases in the album being repeated, [Army of me vs. Fighter]. She a legend, hands down, but she's not marketable anymore. I just said I was a huge, huge fan… but I didn't buy Bionic or Lotus and I don't plan on it. She needs to carve a new niche for herself in this pop industry, IF she wants to be a pop star. She should probably just relax and make soft, beautiful and perfect ballads. an album of CONTROLLED ballads that are moving and easy to listen to. We know what christina is capable of vocally, i want to her something different from her. On Lotus I loved Circles and Blank Page and that's about it :[

Xtina used to be an amazing singer back when she was a relevant house hold name, but now in my opinion her music sounds bad and she sounds like she's scream singing. Not a pleasant sound to my ears and the reason I'm not getting this album.

I have to agree with a lot of the other comments. I grew up with Xtina and was always a huge fan of hers especially because I always felt that she got back seated to Britney even though she had the pipes! But, honestly, after 15 years now I can't honestly say I feel like I know the chick at all. Likeability does factor in, and over the last few years she has really made me question why I've ever been a fan of hers.. besides her God given talent. She seems like she's always trying to prove something, especially those first 2 season of the Voice, I couldn't stand her! And this season so far she seems to be playing nice which makes me think it's because she had an album dropping and someone told her to behave!

She is simply too great for this world !!! The album is really good and it was for her fans so maybe thats why it wasnt promoted as much.. Obviously shes not trying to take over the world with this… Shes just giving great music,soul and talent as usual and thats what the fans have been waiting for!!! She is a legend, always will be…she knows it, we know it… You can keep hating on meaningless things like weight,make up,tan or whatever u THINK she is as a person.

Christina came out when I was 8, and I listened to her a lot when I was a teenager. Now I'm
21 and I don't listen to her at all. I actually LIKE the fact that looks like a normal person now, but giiiirl. She needs to stop dressing like she's still that 102 lb 17 year old that was on the scene in 2000. I feel the same way about Mariah….they both need to realize that they aren't in their 20s anymore. They need to dress accordingly. Christina needs to dial EVERYTHING back….tan, hair, MAKE UP, clothes. She just isn't relatable at all, and seems like she is just trying way too hard to keep up with the youngin's. Yes she's only 31, but that is ancient in "popstar land". She has so much talent, it's sad that she's not more successful.

She has a great voice, that is true. But she has a shitty personality! She comes across as if she's so above everyone else out there, and she sounds phoney when saying it! She never has anything interesting to say because she constantly recycles her answers for every era. When listening to her talk, she doesn't seem to have a genuine bone in her body, and she's a fricken narcissist. I'm sorry, but, she's a turn off to people. But can she sing? Yes, she can. But over sung high notes does not mean people will buy her album. I have to laugh when I see comments asking if she is underrated because she hasn't received much love over the last two era's. Underrated, really? This woman should be selling albums on her name alone. But, no one cares about her anymore because she reeks Bitch all over! Oh, and LOL at Perez for acting like he's upset that her album is tanking.

I think she's just trying too hard. I used to really love Christina. I even really enjoyed Bionic after I bought it. But I'm just really sick of her talking about sex all the time and pushing her sexuality in my face. We get it. She likes sex. She needs to evolve and move on. It's generic pop with a raunchy twist. Even her look is played. She needs to find herself, get back to making music that's real, and drop the fakeness.

the first week sales is ow doesnt mean it will flop automatically some album are really steady.. if she can sell more in coming weeks than she will be fine shania twains come on over only sold about 100 k in its first week but now its the best selling album by a female artist

[Part 2] Unfortunately, since going on The Voice, both she and Adam have steered their careers firmly into the mainstream. I know that a lot of Maroon 5 and Christina fans feel insulted by their 2012 releases. I don't know if it was Christina's choice or her label's choice to make Lotus such a mainstream, vacant album that sounds like a mix of Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, and Leona Lewis, but it was a terrible move for the sake of her artistic credibility. Bionic had its fair share of mainstream tracks that were forced onto it at the last minute, but at least they were still high-quality, unlike "Around the World" from Lotus. People will always hate her personality and her carnal embracement of sexuality, but going so mainstream has pissed off the fans she has left. She could probably maintain a decent following if she decided to make true R&B/soul music like Anthony Hamilton and Alicia Keys. The pop scene just isn't for her.

christina has done nothing to deserve the way the media has savaged her image and probably ruined her career.

she should go out lookin' her best though. she should come out looking as fierce as she did at the january 2010 golden globe awards in the beautiful pink gown. she looked totally flawless.
