Getting Anchorman 2 made has been harder than Ron Burgundy's massive boner.
While discussing the process of making Anchorman 2 director, Adam McKay, revealed the movie was originally written as a musical!
"We were going to do Anchorman 2 as a Broadway musical first, for like six months and then go shoot the movie. That was our initial idea."
Oh, we would have loved to see that…. BUT WAIT! We still can!
The director says that some musical elements from the original script WILL be in the final film. He promises the movie will have:
"Whole song sequences, absolutely. There will be some music in Anchorman 2 for sure, we have some songs already written."
Adam is kinda known for having musical scenes in his flicks (i.e. Anchorman he had the guys sing Afternoon Delight and Adam Scott and his family singing Sweet Child O' Mine in Step Brothers), but he says A2's dance scene will be different from those scenes cuz… there's gonna be DANCING!
"And every time we've done it, we end up using the live track from the recording. We'll probably do it the same way in this. This one might have a little more movement in it, and the only problem with that is the actors get winded."
Great Odin’s Raven!
Our mustaches are tingling with excitement!
