Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 To Break Harry Potter's Opening Weekend Record?!

| Filed under: Film FlickersHarry PotterTwilightBusiness Blitz

Ohhh you better clutch your wand tight Harry Potter, ’cause the Twilight vamps are coming for that ass!!

Unsurprisingly, it seems the final installment in the Twilight franchise, Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2, is going to make SO much lovely box-office gold!

THOUSANDS of shows are already sold out across North America for Friday's opening, and based on pre-ticket sales, the film is expected to make $130 - $150 million over the weekend!

BUT, will that $$$ be enough to suck the box office blood from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2's EPIC, record breaking opening?!?!

Well, as of now, no.

HPandtheDH2 garnered an impressive $168.5 million during it's initial opening, and unless Twihards see the movie multiple times this weekend — which is VERY possible — it seems Twilight's final film won't stand up to Mr. Potter's box office charm…

But hey, in the long run, Twilight could totally plunge its fangs into Harry's earnings! Just be patient Twihards and go and see the film like… ten times each!

If Breaking Dawn doesn't beat Harry Potter in its opening weekend (which it won't), it won't come even near it in the long run. Twilight films, even before the final film, are incredubly front-loaded and drop like rocks after the first weekend. Probably half of Breaking Dawn's total domestic haul will come from the opening weekend.

sorry but none of the Twilight films have touched the Harry Potter films. Not even close. BD pt1 only took $705m. Final HP film $1,328m…nearly twice as much!

Take this article down Perez. You lied. Twitard only made $141 opening weekend HP DH Part 2 made $169. and it didnt even touch HP DH part 2 opening day record $91 Twitard only made $71 milliin. this is why i dont follow you. You lie and are a terrible gossip journalist. Grow a pair and go to school. Learn how to properly distinguish yourself from the media outlets and you.

Ahah no, the biggest twilight movie is breaking dawn 2 and it only passed the least grossing hp film (prisoner of azkaban) and its no where near as good. Besides prisoner of azkaban still has a higher record than breaking dawn 2. So sorry but this shit light series will never match up to the masterpiece that is Harry Potter.
