JOY TO THE WORLD!
Trapped In The Closet is going to Broadway!
On Monday, R. Kelly told a packed house of Closet enthusiasts that he's taking the hip-hopera to the Big Apple with Broadway dreams.
"To transform it into a Broadway version, that’s what I'm working on."
The big news came with a screening of the latest chapters in the collection, all of which will debut on IFC come Friday. So get your Scotch ready, now. Ha!
R. Kelz explained his hobby even more, saying:
"I'm just having a lot of fun. I don't have a job, so I sit in the studio all the time and think of stupid stuff to do. And this is just something stupid I've done that's been successful. I'm having a lot of fun with it."
"Trapped in the Closet is pretty much forever. I've got a leash on this thing now. I'm going to walk it. I want you guys to know, I'm not going to leave you guys hanging five years again for the next chapter. The next chapters that are coming [are] going to exceed every chapter that you've ever seen. I guarantee it."
If done correctly, this could end up being pretty epic.
He even said he had EIGHTY-FIVE chapters locked up in the studio.
Soo… if this is gonna really happen, he better get to filmin' fast! He's got a lot of cinematic' story-tellin to do before he can adapt it to a stage! LOL!
