Katie Holmes might have escaped Scientology, but one thing she can never manage to run from are the critics!
Mz. Holmes recently made her return to Broadway, with the opening of Dead Accounts just last week!
However, it seems the actress is getting less than AH-Mazing reviews for her performance in the play… and it’s really taking a toll on her!
An insider revealed:
“Katie was devastated about the reviews because she’s always been so passionate about Broadway. It was her first love, well before she starred in Dawson’s Creek or any Hollywood movies. Appearing on Broadway was her childhood dream.”
Though, no need to worry TOO much, Katie — there’s still plenty of time and room for improvement!
Reportedly, Katie has already sat down with the writers and producers of the show to see what she can do to help make it better and is taking in the constructive criticism!
The source went on to say:
“Katie doesn’t care if it means taking part in extra rehearsals because she’s determined to make it work. Getting her career back on track post Tom Cruise has been one of Katie’s priorities and this is the first step in doing that — she wants to get it right.”
As for some of the not-so-positive reviews she’d been receiving?
One critic, Joe Dziemianowicz, said her “efforts added up to zilch,” while others blamed the lack of dimension in her character!
Dead Accounts’ run lasts until February 24, so there’s still plenty of chances for Katie to improve and show those critics!
