Emotions bubble to the surface like boiling hot water as we gaze upon the pure joy that is two people celebrating their love OFFICIALLY for the first time ever!

A law legalizing same-sex marriage came into effect Thursday in the state of Washington, and hundreds of gay couples were issued marriage licenses…

The first of which was handed to Pete-e Petersen and Jane Abbott Lighty (above)!

85-year-old Pete-e expressed:

"We waited a long time. We've been together 35 years, never thinking we'd get a legal marriage. Now I feel so joyous I can't hardly stand it."

The long time lovers plan on tying the knot this Sunday.

Tears! Everywhere tears!

This year the momentous decision was made via popular vote in the states of Maine, Maryland and Washington to LEGALIZE same-sex marriage.

Yay! Huzzah! A thousand times Hurrah!

Now get it together federal government! Legalize same-sex marriage for every state! It's only right that ALL people should be allowed to officiate their love!

    Re: DrBroadway
Your comment is quite uninformed and dumb.
    (Not to mention immature.)
Explain to us all how exactly two women getting a signed piece of paper is a step toward the end of morality?
Especially considering that the so-called "institution" of marriage was created solely for the purpose of controlling women and children and keeping bloodlines straight?
Seriously, look around, moron. "America" lost its "morality" decades before gay marriage was considered.

And while I'm on the subject, how "moral" is a man buying a woman and parading her down an aisle with an engagement ring?
And how "moral" is governments and churches sticking their messy hands into, and believing they actually have the right to DICTATE "who gets to do what" regarding the simple business of love between two human beings?

Dude, put your thinking cap on, do some research, and get the brainwashed dogmatic crap out of your head.
