Lea Michele Goes From Being Good To Downright Holy In Two Incredible Glee Performances!

| Filed under: Music MinuteBarbra StreisandGleeLea MicheleHolidaze

We can't…

Like seriously, we can't explain to you how much joy we get when Lea Michele sings a Barbra Streisand side. See, we weren't alive when the legend was in her Funny Girl heyday. However, watching our Princess Lea blossom and grow and share her talent on Glee makes us feel like we're getting somewhat of a glimpse!

Last night, our beloved songtress owned the night with back-to-back stellar performances that rightfully deserved the two standing ovations it awarded Yes, we know the show is scripted, but those people just didn't look like they were acting to us! Plus, no one told us to leap from our couch in ecstasy when she was done! But anyway…

Here for your enjoyment are Lea's powerhouse performances from last night's episode, Swan Song. Check out the video (above) to hear Lea slay Streisand's newly released Being Good Isn't Good Enough (truer words never spoken sung) and then CLICK THE JUMP to get some holiday fare with her version of Oh Holy Night!

Kind of random, considering that NEXT week is the Christmas episode… but we're not one to judge the decisions of the holy RIB!

Enjoy!

She reminds me of Barbara Streisand. Love her!

She is the biggest vocal talent on the entire show. Seriously, she can sing anything, but this shows how huge of a talent she is. It's too bad she wasn't cast in the Les Miserables movie, she would have nailed it!

The strength and control of her voice is amazing. Her songs last night were absolutely beautiful! I've also got to hand it to Chris. His song was the best I've heard from him.

Re: Moniker – Her ugly man face is probably what kept her from being cast; that and the fact that though she can sing, she's a totally crap actress. Who the hell wants to see her fugly mugly on the big screen? Nobody who wants to keep his or her dinner down. She's as ugly as Perez is, but in a manlier way.

Re: Pansy Hunter – she is a talented actress and a fine singer, I watched her in les mis (broadway bowl) and recently Samantha ( the girl that was cast as eponine) and I prefer lea.

It's about time they gave Lea a "GREAT" episode this year. No disrespect to the other cast members, but talent wise.. they can't hold a candle to Lea. I hope the casting directors for the new GYPSY movie with Barbra considers Lea for the role of Gypsy/Louise.. the two of them together would be scenematic gold!!!

Re: Pansy Hunter – I have never been a huge fan of hers being that most broadway types are too mechanical. She actually brought a tear to my eye with that performance. She was soft when she needed to be, powerful when it was appropriate and most importantly she sang with such passion she reached inside me. And isn't that what music is all about?

I just wish they had enough confidence in her voice (and in the audience) not to Autotune her performances.
