We are still in shock after yesterday’s news that Mexican banda singer and domestic violence awareness advocate, Jenni Rivera, was taken away from us too soon in a plane crash.

However, the Latina icon will not be forgotten.

Following the the heartbreaking news, many celebrities, friends and fans shared their reactions via Twitter. Among those grieving are:

Ricky Martin tweeted in Spanish: “This is sad. I’m a bit in shock. Much peace to her family.”

Eva Longoria: My heart breaks for the loss of Jenni Rivera & everyone on the plane. My prayers go out to her family. We lost a legend today.

Jennifer Lopez: So sad!! Praying for Jenni Rivera’s children and family and the passengers families.

Wilmer Valderrama: Heard confirmed news about our dear @JenniRivera.. this breaks my heart in a million pieces.. it is just a huge loss for our community.

Pitbull: I highly respected #JenniRivera 4 being a gr8 performer but more then tht being real & gr8 example 4 us all que dios la bendiga &may she RIP

Mario Lopez: Spent some time with Jenni Rivera recently. What an amazing lady… Cool, smart, funny & talented. Such a travesty… God Bless her family

Cristina Saralegui, the Latin Oprah: “I was saddened to hear of the news of my friend Jenni Rivera. My deepest sympathies to her family and to the family of the others on the plane. May they rest in peace.”

Gloria Estefan:“Our deepest sympathy to the family & fans of @jennirivera & those that accompanied her on what was to be her last voyage. Rest in peace…”

Paulina Rubio tweeted in Spanish: “I’ve been waiting for my 9:00 a.m. for my dear friend@ jennirivera but she never came. I’m crying. She left us too soon … There are no words — no consolation.”

Our condolences go to Jenni’s family, friends and fans, especially her five young children.
