To say that they are strippers is an extremely obtuse statement, unless you've actually seen them in a strip club before.
There are hundreds of professional female stage performers who are proficient in pole dancing that don't do it so that slimmy men can stick dollars down their g-strings. They are called professional dancers, similar to showgirls who perform on Las Vegas stages nightly. I highly doubt that Miley would pull strippers out of a club to perform at such a high-level event. Professional pole dancers are well known for their pole tricks, and many of them (not all, but many) would not be caught dead working in a strip club. To the contrary, they are paid handsomely by production companies to be part of their performance because of the skill level they bring in the area of pole dancing. It's an extremely difficult and physically taxing profession, and should be respected as an art. Living in Las Vegas for many years, and being very close friends with pole dancers, I am not surprised by the lack of knowledge that many have regarding the area, and suggest time is taken to understand the profession before making comments such as what was made at the beginning of this piece.
