The LAPD had, to the shock of the world, a huge lapse in judgement when they released the records for Notorious B.I.G.'s death of Friday… without warning his family. Not even a call or a tweet. Nothin'.
Even worse, those records contained graphic autopsy photos.
The excuse circulating is that they did indeed want to notify his family, but things slipped into the public because of an (are you ready for this?):
The cops continued:
"Our detectives personally spoke with the Wallace family (Friday) night, and apologized for not notifying them prior to the release. Obviously this has been a challenging case; We hope that witnesses or other people with information will come forward and give us the clues we need."
Real name Christopher Wallace, B.I.G. had been murdered in a drive by 15 years ago. They're hoping to solve the case with the security hold on the report being lifted. The 23-page report says he was hit by four bullets after leaving an event in March 1997, and that the fourth, the one that hit his heart, lung and colon, killed him.
The LAPD has been under intense scrutiny for years having not solved such a high profile case.
Yeah, you guys probably should've let the family know! Can you imagine finding out this way??
