Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera's California driver's license (above) has been found amongst the wreckage of the small Learjet which crashed near the town of Iturbide in Mexico's Sierra Madre Oriental.
It's been confirmed that the plane was the same one carrying Jenni, her publicist Arturo Rivera, her stylist Jorge Sanchez, her makeup artist Jacobo Llenares and her attorney Mario Macias, and two pilots — even though the bodies have yet to be physicall identified.
Despite this, Jenni's father Pedro Rivera told reporters:
"I believe my daughter's body is unrecognizable. My son, Lupillo, told me that effectively, it was Jenni's plane that crashed and that everyone on board died… She never gave up and she was good to everyone."
Jenni's brother, Pedro Rivera Jr. expressed:
"Life is like that. We live and we die. We may be sad, but when God has the last word for all of us in our last days, it's time to go. And this was the way Jenni had to go."
Jenni's plane was reported missing Sunday morning when it lost contact with air traffic controllers in Mexico. The pop culture icon was flying to Mexico City after she performed a concert in Monterrey Saturday night.
Jenni and her team were photographed inside their Learjet before the plane took flight, and a caption on Instagram reads:
"We getting Back To Mexico City…..jenni Rivera ,Arturo , Gigi and Me.. Los Amooo!" at Aeropuerto Internacional de Monterrey General Mariano Escobedo (MTY)
There is still no word as to what caused the plane's loss of function.
We are so incredibly saddened by this great tragedy, and send our thoughts and prayers to Jenni's family, friends and fans during this time.
You are in the hearts of many Jenni! May you and the other passengers involved find peace.
