Barbara Walters Asks Chris Christie Point Blank If He's Too Fat For The Presidency!

| Filed under: Barbara WaltersWacky, Tacky & TruePolitik

What in the world, Barbara Walters??

This is NOT the kind of question that solidified you as one of the best journalists in the world — and it's actually pretty offensive!

She straight up asks Chris Christie if he's too fat to be the President of the United States, as if that's a prerequisite to the job.

Not only that, but she asks him why he's overweight, which seems like a completely unnecessary question!!

His reaction is nothing but appropriate. Well handled, Chris!

Watch (above) to see it all happen — and on a side note, Chris Christie totally has the alliteration to be President. LOLz!

is she too old for TV???

That's kinda rude Barbra, no one asks why you're wrinkly and in love with the booboo family.

  3. beach says – reply to this

She's lost her mind. It's been obvious for over a year. She needs to quit now before she embarrasses herself further. SERIOUSLY.

That question is totally valid; people were questioning McCain about whether he was too old to run for president because of the serious health risks that come with his age. Even worse risks come with Christie's unhealthy weight, and, as a nation, we deserve a president that won't kick it half-way through his first term due to an obesity-related illness. Absolutely nothing wrong with her question.

Re: CommonSense – I agree. The job is physically demanding as well as mentally demanding.

  6. 6

yes lets ask her if she's too old and senile for interviewing people on TV? I would say YES! Kick her into Shady pines rest home and lock the door so she cant escape.

  7. 7

Re: CommonSense – shut up you idiot. Is your name ironic or what?

  8. DrBroadway says – reply to this

What a bitch! She needs to retire!

Has she heard of Grover Cleveland? William Howard Taft? There have been plenty of obese presidents. Have you fat haters heard of them?

  9. Shittrell says – reply to this

This was a perfectly valid question because we're not talking about someone who is only 30 lbs overweight. This man is over 40 years old and is approx. 200 lbs overweight! It is very possible that he could die in office due to an obesity-related illness. If you can't accept that fact, you can't accept REALITY!

    Re: Shittrell

Yeah, and Obama could die from Lung Cancer…or get hit by a bus.

He is overweight because he eats like a freaking pig. How does he wash all those folds of skin? Why do Repugs hate the American people so?

  12. BC says – reply to this

It was maybe not phrased very well but it's completely appropriate and relevant. Americans want to know that their President is healthy to lead. Christie looks like he's going to have a heart attack any minute.

  13. dummy says – reply to this

Valid question. Being that overweight shows he has no self control or discipline. It also sends a message that it's OK to be fat-obesity is killing our health care system and it is 100% self inflicted.

  14. allen says – reply to this

Yeah, he's fat. I would take a fat Chris Christie before any Barack Obama. Just because you can shoot hoops and hit a golf ball doesn't make you an efffective president.

She had better interview the Prez now and grill him about his hideous smoking problem. Only ignorant people smoke. Cigarettes cause second-hand smoke which means his bad habit can make others sick as well. Chris Christie, while over weight, has an affliction that does not affect others. I wish old Babs would focus on Obama and find out why he's so callous towards others who may breath his putrid smoke!

  16. teeter totter says – reply to this

Re: allen – Me too, I would vote for him especially if he had a good running mate. That is one of the main reasons I did not vote for McCain, was Palin, and instead voted for that idiot Obama and have been paying for it ever since then.

  17. sayswho says – reply to this

She is so rude! Really demeaning to assume a person's value and ability is tied to their waistline! Being fat does NOT diminish your ability to problem solve and lead.

  18. Went says – reply to this

I think it's a 100% valid question. The health of the president is VERY important and having someone not in good health could put the country in a bad position.

  19. 19

Given his political position it is a valid health related question. Nobody would find it rude to question someone who was emaciated but still "healthy" enough to get around. He almost handled himself well until he treated the cause of his obesity like a mystery. The cause of obesity is as obvious as the fact that Walters will remain wildly successful and likely outlive all of her haters.

  20. Nwvotes says – reply to this

Do you think Chris Christie is too fat to be President? Vote at

  21. 21

I'm pissed! So the most fascinating person of the year is a general who cheated on his wife? ! turned the TV off as soon as Barbara announced him as the most fascinating. What a joke. He isn't the most fascinating he's the most disturbing.

  22. Eleanor says – reply to this

I don't recall the press questioning Obamas fitness due to his smoking habit.

  24. 24

What's funny is how hypocritical and sexist society is towards men. Had this been a woman being asked this question people would be flipping their shit, saying it was sexism and body shaming. But since it's a guy, morons rationalize it by saying "it's a legitimate question" I'm willingly to bet they wouldn't be saying it if it were a woman who was asked that question.

  25. 25

That was incredibly rude of her. How would she like it if someone asked why she is still on tv? Isnt she too oldl for that???

  26. Bonnie B. says – reply to this

Remember - this is the same woman who asked Martina Navratilova "Can't you just TRY to love a man?" She's obsolete, but nobody's told her that yet.

  27. 27

Poor old Barbara………..she is getting a little senile!

  28. sherron mahs says – reply to this

it's time for her to give up work-take the View off the air or revamp with Sherry and Elizabeth. Her face looks young but she has the walk, attention span, neck and reflexes of a 90 year old-why isn't her close relatives or friends talking to her about it? She often gets lost in what she is going to say and makes rude remarks even to her co-hosts. Very sad-

  29. Dazzle says – reply to this

I would have laughed if he asked her if she thinks she is too old and senile to do her job, because clearly she is. No one asks "do you think you drink too much" to "do your job or smoke too much to do your job". His work should stand for itself. What a narrow minded woman.

  30. 30

    she is sooooo overrated

  31. David says – reply to this

She did not ask hert question like you are reporting it! Plus, when I went to school, Phys Ed. was based on staying fit like the president! It is a valid question, and she ask it gracfully as only she can.
