Bye, Bye Broadway: Evita Shutting Down Doors

Evita Ricky Martin Broadway Show Closing

The show will not go on.

It seems time on Broadway is up for Evita as it will unexpectedly come to a close on January 26, 2013.

Oh, sad sad day.

It was believed the show would continue with a new cast when Ricky Martin, Elena Roger and Michael Cerveris finished their run, but a new cast could not be found.

Producers Hal Luftig and Scott Sanders explain:

“Our extensive search for a new cast presented the significant challenges of not only replacing a high-caliber trio of stars but also synchronizing the schedules of potential replacements with that of the production. Despite going down the road with a variety of artists, the planets have simply not aligned for us to engage the right talent at the right time. Therefore, we have made the decision to end this incredible journey on a high note on January 26 with our original stars intact.”

Well, we have to agree. You have to be Livin' la Vida Loca if you think you can replace Ricky!

But, this isn’t the final curtain call just yet. Say what???

The show will be continuing in September 2013 when it heads out on a national tour!

Mr. Sanders revealed fans can still catch a performance:

“We were thrilled by the diversity of the audiences that have filled the Marquis every evening and look forward to sharing this beautiful production with even larger audiences across the country beginning next fall.”

Unfortunately, there will be no Ricky.

Don’t cry for us…

…we’ll just have to catch him on The Voice Australia!

  1. ASIANS CAN READ MINDS! says – reply to this

they can hear, and see what your visually thinking
this is the absolute complete truth!!!!!

The reason a lot of Asians have completely expressionless faces, segregate from everybody else-only associate with Asians and don’t associate with non Asians that much, are very untalkative, and are very unfriendly in general is to avoid accidentally revealing that they can read minds by accidentally showing a facial expression or dirty look when someone thinks, or visually pictures something in their mind they don’t like, find astonishing, or funny etc because those people might see that and really wonder what that was that just happened there and see the connection, and they might accidentally say something similar to what the person was just thinking and going to say. If they all associated with non Asians a lot more then there would be a lot more people around for them to accidentally show facial expressions when those people think things they don’t like etc, so they segregate and only associate with Asians so there won’t be anyone around for them to see that and have any accidents happen in the first place.

Try thinking, best yet visually picturing in your mind something absolutely wild as you possibly can when you are around Asians, and try looking for Asians who give people particular looks, especially dirty looks for what appears to be for completely no reason.
I know this may sound crazy, impossible and unbelievable, BUT IT ISN’T CRAZY WHEN IT’S TRUE

He's going to Australia to do the Voice? Why? With his great popularity here I wish he would have taken an offer in the US. You see, Australia gets to see nearly EVERY show that the US makes. NCIS, The View, you name it they get it. Unfortunately they do not reciprocate with their shows. Home and Away, nope. Nothing. Click on the official site, sorry not seen in your country. Well, hope they enjoy him as we can be sure that although they get our "Voice" We won't be getting theirs. Yep, I'm a bit bitter about this. This non sharing between AU and the US has been going on for years. One way street. Selfish. Would have loved to see what they had to offer, maybe nothing really worth it. Oh well, Best wishes to Ricky. Hope they treat you well. you're a muy guapo hombre and we love you here. All the boys and girls <3 Ricky Martin.
