The poor little Muppet hasn’t had it easy these days, but Michael Bublé is one star who isn’t turning his back on him.
While Elmo is caught in the middle of the sex scandal mess of Kevin Clash AKA the voice of Elmo, Michael stood by his decision to celebrate the holidays with the furry guy.
Elmo was pre-recorded as a guest on Michael’s Home for the Holidays TV special, and the lawsuits that fell on Kevin after the recording didn’t change Michael’s love for the Sesame Street character. He said:
“There was never a discussion to lose him. The truth is, Elmo didn’t do anything. He’s a three-year-old monster. He’s innocent, sweet, and funny — and very polite, too.”
Awww, we feel the same way!
And the performance was totes adorbs.
Michael and Elmo joked around while he helped the muppet write a letter to Santa. They then finished up with a duet of All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.
It was as sweet as Michael promised:
“[The performance is] so warm and sweet. It really is a beautiful moment. I think people will enjoy it.”
All this happiness and joy almost made us forget about everything else going on.
Maybe now we can go back to enjoying Elmo despite what the man behind him might have done.
After all, it wasn't the muppet's fault!
