Blackout 2.0 On The Way?! Britney Spears Is Working On A NEW Album!

Oh man. Nothing but absolute GREATNESS can come from this!
Especially if it's taking the direction we THINK it will go!
Britney Spears has spent the majority of 2012 putting her music career on the backburner while participating on the judges panel this season on X Factor, but for those of you who are anxious for the princess of pop to reclaim her rightful throne, we have some EXCELLENT news!
She's beginning work on her EIGHTH studio album…and while it's a follow-up to 2011's Femme Fatale, this new effort may be more sonically reminiscent of 2007's EPIC Blackout!
Apparently, the singer has already teamed with Grammy-award winning writer Elijah Blake, the man responsible for Rihanna's No Love Allowed and Climax by Usher, who says:
"I think her fans will be surprised by it. I would say it's definitely the 'unexpected' Britney in so many ways, in that she's playing with new textures and stomping on new grounds and genres."
He later took to Twitter to confirm:
@zankou_212 I've definitely had the pleasure of starting on something I think is going to be big with her
— Elijah Blake (@SirElijahBlake) December 12, 2012
Which leads us back to recall a VERY inneresting, and possibly VERY TELLING Tweet from Miz Spears back in October, on the anniversary of Blackout's original release date:
I heard Happy Birthday Blackout was trending earlier… thank u all for loving the album as much as I do. Blackout 2.0?
— Britney Spears (@britneyspears) October 27, 2012
YES! YES! YES!
Seeing as that album has been widely regarded as paving the way for pop music as we know it today, we have a feeling that she's once again ready to re-define her aesthetic on this new project!
And we don't know about you, but we are MORE than ready to hear what she comes up with!
SUCH EXCITING NEWS, gurl!
Here's hoping it comes sooner rather than later!
Scream & Shout will only hold us over for so long!

By working on an new album you mean She's paying someone to write it and sing it for her right.
YESSS BLACKOUT 2.0 NO MORE DR LUKE PLEASE
The girl can even sing but she got good people working for her !
black out is her best album - can't wait for thissss
More autotuned "music", looks like jason wants want's money from the "gay's".
This poor girl needs to be put out to pasture
Like Madonna she needs to stop. They are both desperately trying to stay on top that their music is suffering. Someone else needs the spotlight.
I like Britney too, but honestly, she has very little input in her music. It's all production. she's just the augmented voice behind it.
…
YES!!! Im so fricken excited for this!!!!
LMAO BRITNEY IS A FLOP SHE IS THE WORST SINGER AND SHES TAKEN AUTO TUNE TO A NEW LEVEL W/ THE SONG WITH WILL I AM. I CANT WAIT FOR BLACKOUT 2.0 TO COME OUT SO THAT IT CAN FLOPPPPP.. YOU'LL SEE
;)
I don't get why people are hating on her. She's the top selling female artis of 2012. Not Madonna, not Lady Gaga, not Rihanna or Taylor Swift. Like it or not she is the Neo-Queen of Pop and she doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.
I'm soooo excited! I've been missing listening to music from her.
I wish she could do something more like In The Zone rather than Blackout, and I also wish that she would write her own songs. She’s written very good songs (Someday, Everytime, most of the songs on her self-titled album), so I don’t know why she doesn’t do that more often.
Re: starstrck – uhm ok im sure it will "flop" when Britney Spears just got named the sexiest women alive on billboard and has the number one song out in 18 countries! im not even that big of a fan but she is probably the most famous person out there and i think this is only the beginning of a LONG career for her….your gonna feel like shit when her album is number 1…again
Re: NoOne – uhm did you just say like Madoona?? she is almost 30 years older then her, Britney Spears is hot as hell actually flawless is more like it and she just got named the hottest woman alive on billboard for 2013. Her last album went straight to number one, she has the number one song in 18 countries right now….im pretty sure she doesnt even have to try to stay on top cause all she has to do is walk outside and the hole world loves her…most of the world atleast so year she will probably have another BIG year
Tbh, Britney doesn't give two shits about what y'all haters think. She's the top female selling artist, pop legend, etc. why should she care if you don't like it? The fans will def like it.
Re: lacroix – umm… you are aware that Jason makes his own money, right? It may not be as much as Britney but if you google him, you'll see that he's worth an estimated $6million… He represents some big time Hollywood stars with Paris Hilton and Taylor Swift being some. Jason may not be a celebrity or anything but he is a very successful man and people shouldn't try to take that away from him because of who he's engaged to and how successful she is.
Now, onto the actual article, when she tweeted that "Blackout 2.0" I fangirled, that was an incredible album. I am hoping for more of her natural, breathy vocals over the babyvoice thing she's been doing recently though, so a "Britney" meets "Blackout" would be epic as hell.
Re: Drew –
Being number 1 doesn't make you good. It just makes you popular. Look at the list of songs throughout history that have reached #1…a lot of them suck.
If you wear 12 pounds of make up and spanx, you are far from flawless. I hate dance music and autotuned music. She is so 12 years ago!
